Carl is right. He may remember, as I do, how Paul Wellstone, who until Mr. Obama went to Washington was one of the most socialist politicians ever to stalk Capitol Hill, won election by less than half a percentage point. The Constitution Party candidate got just over 1%. Had the Constitution Party thrown its support behind Rudy Boschwitz, several close votes in the Senate might have gone the other way.

This is a nightmare scenario - enough conservative votes go to somebody other than Romney-Ryan to put the election within reach of Mr. Obama's vote fraud shenanigans. (There's a reason they oppose Photo ID, and it isn't concern for the voters who supposedly can't get their free Photo ID.) Mr. Obama then goes back into office and claims he has a mandate to complete the transformation of the United States into the North American Socialist Administrative Region. The Constitution will be removed from the National Archives and recycled to make "green" toilet paper, in practice, if not in actuality.

We can't take the chance. Nor can we expect that a President Romney will be able to fix our problems by himself, even granted that he wants to. Even Ron Paul cannot take on the Administrative State without the firm support of Congress; the bureaucrats would sabotage him at every turn, and tie him up in the courts if he tried to do anything about it. A President intent on restoring the Rule of Law will need a conservative House and a conservative Senate, with a firm, brave leadership. They will face skunk spray from the leftist propaganda machine 24/7, so this will not be a task for those of weak character.
