"Legitimate Rape" is indeed an an appropriate polemic. The claim of "rape" is often used to justify (either morally or legally) abortion. Akin considers an embryo to be a person, irrespective of the mode of conception. He is entitled to hold that conviction. It is up to the voters of Missouri to decide if his his conviction are congruent with their own. I suspect that, in the net, they will conclude that Akin's world views are more acceptable than those of his opponent.
