I agree with you, why would an otherwise rational voter decide to throw away his voice by choosing Ron Paul as a "write-in?" Could it be because the RNC dismissed those voices of dissent when the RNC Rules Committee threw out votes for Paul? In the names of unanimity and power the RNC (with John Boehner gavelling) decided as a matter of policy to centralize in DC and discard the grass-roots nature of the republican party.
The effects of this power play will be played out in the future elections of your children and grandchildren.
