Way back in 1964, after graduation from a University, with a degree in Forest, I took a job with the US Fish & Wildlife Service. It was shortly after taking that job, we were required to spend our lunch period watch a move were President LBJ was stating to the nation that he was eliminating all sorts of government jobs and saving billions of dollars. A few days later, a janitor came around with a razor blade and scraped off the names of some divisions off the doors and changed that name to another existing division. On paper, it look as though hundreds of people were gone, but not one person was eliminate. Yes, that division was eliminate, but the employees from that division were just incorporated into another division. That is when I learned about the "Government Fast Shuffle." I subsequently left the service over a 'Hatch Act" incident. That is another story.
