MSNBC anchor Chris Hayes this week said, “The political dysfunction that has brought about the shutdown and now threatens default, isn’t so much gridlock. It is exposing the fatal flaw in our Constitution and highly distinct system of government. In other words, it’s the Constitution’s fault. Something truly catastrophic was bound to happen sooner or later.” Our Republic has survived for over 237 years, and suddenly it’s the Constitution’s fault? The very issue at hand is gridlock – Barack Obama and the Democrats’ refusal to negotiate forced the shutdown, and instead of working to resolve the situation, the Left is relying on a manufactured crisis to progressively pivot off America’s foundation. For the Left, this is a game, and they’re determined to win no matter what.
