The recent devastation from Typhoon Haiyan coupled with Sunday’s large tornado outbreak in the Heartland have riled up the climate ambulance chasers. Meteorologist Joe Bastardi sets the record straight: “Haiyan was the seventh strongest recorded typhoon to hit the Philippines, which has been struck 58 times by super typhoons. This is a great link showing the facts and the rankings regarding hits on the Philippines. It also shows that, contrary to what the climate ambulance chasers are saying, landfalls have decreased. By the way, Sunday’s tornado outbreak was likely the fifth largest for November. Autumn is the known second season of tornado activity and it correlates most strongly with a warm AMO – the cycle we are in now!”
