Barbara Walters’ recent admission – “We thought that [Obama] was going to be … the next messiah” – prompted this response from political commentator Charles Krauthammer: “[I]t’s remarkable that it would take half a decade for the veil to be lifted from her eyes. Five years to realize the man isn’t a messiah? I think it took … almost all of us about, you know, an hour and a half to realize that he gives a good speech, but he’s shown no aptitude at governing.” Of course, for those who knew Barack Obama even before his days as a senator, it was a forgone conclusion that BO wasn’t anything other than a rhetorical propagandist intent on transforming the United States of America. All he needed was a low-info constituency.
