Think the Democratic Party is the party of the common man? The staunch supporter of economic equality? Well, we’ve got cold, hard numbers to refute that claim. According to Bloomberg Business Week, Democrats represent 32 of the 35 districts where inequality is the greatest. Bloomberg says, “These data highlight an interesting dilemma for Democrats. Clearly, extreme inequality correlates strongly with Democratic political representation. As the income inequality grows, that will pose a threat to Republicans – and it’s why President Obama and the Democrats are talking so much about it.” It’s the party that not only patronizes the little guy, it profits off his inability to climb out from poverty.
