Don’t worry; Barack Obama is not going to be “dragged back into another ground war in Iraq.” He really can’t repeat that enough. Well, except he’s considering more action there. “The Obama administration is considering a new military operation to help Shiite Turkmen in northern Iraq who have been surrounded by fighters from the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS), the Pentagon said Wednesday,” the Hill reports. “If the Pentagon moves forward, it would be its second humanitarian operation in Iraq.” It’s all fine if it’s “humanitarian.” Besides, action against ISIL isn’t really meant to defeat them anyway.
