And here we thought the Koch brothers were mere bullies who represent the “greatest threat” to America, as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid recently put it. According to The Washington Free Beacon, “Democrats Carolyn Maloney and Jerrold Nadler appeared with none other than David Koch for the unveiling of the revamped fountains in front of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, which was funded by $65 million from the libertarian philanthropist and has been renamed the David H. Koch Plaza.” Of course, contrary to common perception, such generosity is the norm rather the exception. David and his brother Charles contribute vast sums of money to institutions and charities, as the New York Post reported back in March. In fact, in the New York City area alone, David Koch has donated nearly $630 million to various causes, including hospitals, over the last 14 years.
