The president announced he will expand his “My Brother’s Keeper” initiative, which seeks to increase “opportunities” for “young men of color” with $200 million and a “task force” to identify best practices. According to The Hill, “The president announced he would launch a ‘Community Challenge’ initiative as part of that program, which will ask mayors and local religious and community leaders to develop a ‘cradle to college and career strategy’ for young men of color.” And yet, Obama insisted, “Government can’t play the only or even the primary role in the lives of our children, but what we can do is bring people together.” Well, “cradle to college and career” sounds like a pretty primary role to us. After all, Big Government is central to leftist ideology. Government must supply your every need, they say, unless you’re wealthy or white, in which case it will take from you and give to another.
