Over the summer, Seattle’s economy was ensured a death spiral after city officials approved an incremental minimum wage hike to $15 per hour. For some, however, that’s not nearly enough. The Freedom Socialist Party wants to “[r]aise the minimum wage to $20 an hour,” as stated in its 2012 platform. But like any good socialist group, FSP reeks of hypocrisy.
