Rep. Jim McDermott (D-WA) wants America to take a chill pill after yesterday’s terrorist attack on the Canadian Parliament in Ottawa, because – by his logic – the unnecessary hysteria over Ebola and the threat posed by jihadists go hand in hand. The Washington representative was correct when he said “[y]ou have to wait and get the information” and not jump to conclusions. But he then went off the deep end: “You know, we’ve just gone through the Ebola virus. That was the crisis of last week. Everybody’s hair was on fire about Ebola and suddenly a shooting occurs in Canada and suddenly our hair is on fire that somehow the Muslim hordes are going to come and get us; there’s no evidence for that.” No evidence? We now know that the Canadian terrorist was a convert to Islam, just like Alton Nolen who beheaded a former coworker in Oklahoma just last month. And recent history is replete with jihadist attacks, like the Ft. Hood attack inflicted by Army Major Nidal Malik Hasan. Or perhaps McDermott forget that incident because it was labelled “workplace violence” by the Muslim sympathizers in the White House. In truth, Muslim hordes are already coming after us, and have been for a long time.
