The Patriot Post® · CDC Tiptoes Around Monkeypox

As reports of the spread of monkeypox in the U.S. continue, one politically inconvenient fact has the Biden administration wringing its hands. That politically inconvenient fact is that 99% of those infected have been homosexual men. Furthermore, of those infected 94% have been sexually promiscuous homosexual men. In short, monkeypox is almost exclusively impacting a certain high-risk group.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has effectively tapped danced around this prominent factor out of fear of offending and stigmatizing those engaged in sexually deviant behavior. Again, the problem is that almost all of those who have been infected by the disease are homosexuals, and in order to warn those most at risk of contracting the disease the CDC must get specific.

So, the CDC’s current warning reads as follows:

At this time, data suggest that gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men make up the majority of cases in the current monkeypox outbreak. However, anyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity, who has been in close, personal contact with someone who has monkeypox is at risk.

This is reminiscent of the 1980s and the AIDS epidemic. Those who were getting the disease and spreading it were homosexuals engaged in promiscuous sex. The homosexuals were the superspreaders of what then was a novel and deadly disease. Thankfully, monkeypox is not lethal like AIDS, and no one has died from it in the U.S.

Yet the response to monkeypox is a classic example of why favoring feelings over facts leads to a hiding or censoring of the truth. The truth, however inconvenient, is that monkeypox is being spread by homosexuals, primarily to other homosexuals. What should be trumpeted is that individuals who engage in promiscuous homosexual behavior should refrain from doing so. The problem is that cultural elites who have embraced and celebrated such deviant sexual behavior as being perfectly normal and okay are loathe to even tacitly admit that such deviant behavior is now responsible for spreading a disease.

But indeed such a change in behavior is the wisest action to take. The World Health Organization has sought to gently offer such advice, recently stating, “For men who have sex with men, this includes for the moment, reducing your number of sexual partners, reconsidering considering sex with new partners, and exchanging contact details with any new partners to enable follow up if needed.”

Why only for the moment? This is the problem not only with homosexual promiscuity but with sexual promiscuity in general. How many sexually transmitted diseases would cease to exit if the vast majority of people stopped engaging in sex with multiple partners outside of marriage?

In the current instance, the homosexual community is almost exclusively being plagued, but as with AIDS, how long before monkeypox starts spreading via heterosexual sex?
