Dogmatic climate activists, who reference bad science to justify their extremist demands to impose large scale socialism onto the Western world, have gone to increasingly ridiculous lengths in an effort to gin up attention for their fairy-tale ideology. One of the more humorous actions these leftist activists took recently was at the Porsche Austostadt museum in Wolfsburg, Germany. Fifteen members of an ecofascist group called ScientistRebel1 superglued their hands to the floor of the museum and declared that they would stay there and go on a hunger strike until their demands for decarbonizing the German transport industry and socializing the economy were met.

The display is similar to other actions in museums across Europe, where climate activists will throw things such as mashed potatoes onto famous pieces of art and then proceed to superglue their hands to the wall so as to be difficult to remove as they rant about “climate catastrophe.” It amounts to a childish temper tantrum as these leftist climate radicals demand everyone acquiesce to their twisted ideology.

But sometimes there is a bit of well-deserved justice for these childish and foolish displays. Such was the case with those 15 activists who glued themselves to the Porsche museum floor. Volkswagen simply agreed that they had the right to protest and left the activists stuck to the floor and turned the lights out and closed the museum.

Left in their self-imposed predicament, one of the leaders of the group complained that VW had “refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued, and have turned off the heating,” while “people in support can’t get out of the building.” It is indeed ironic that a group demanding the end to carbonization would complain about the heat being turned off — or use petroleum-based superglue in the first place. But consistency has never been a principle valued by leftist radicals.

The world might have fewer of these full-grown climate toddlers if not for wealthy leftists providing funding. For example, the activists who recently threw a can of tomato soup onto Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” received $1 million from the granddaughter heiress to oil tycoon J. Paul Getty. Aileen Getty long ago drank the anti-fossil fuel Kool-Aid when she cofounded Climate Emergency Fund, a nonprofit organization that works to fund climate activist groups.

Because these folks have failed to win the climate change argument on sound scientific grounds, they have resorted to a form of soft terrorism. Most of it is merely annoying and inconvenient, but it has gotten progressively worse over recent years. There has been an increasing number of incidents of climate activists breaking laws, such as sitting across major roadways and blocking traffic, as they continue their pattern of escalation. Of course, they self-righteously justify their belligerence by claiming with cult-like fanaticism that they are seeking to save the planet. Nothing of the sort is actually true.
