"Let the high praises of God be in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand; to execute vengeance upon the heathen, and punishments upon the people; to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron; to execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise yes Yah." (Psalm 149:6-9).

"But if any provide not [especially protection] for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." (1 Timothy 5:8)

You might be surprised by Executive Director of Gun Owners of America, Larry Pratt's take on this. You can listen to it at http://www.missiontoisrael.org/tapelist.php#goa.

Amen, the only law for guns is the second amendment. Other than that is government tyranny.

Larry's take on the Second Amendment Right as compared with our Scriptural Responsibility to bear arms. You might want to listen to the interview.

If the link was working correctly, it should have put the correct one at the top of the page. It's the one entitled "Interview with Larry Pratt of Gun Owners of America."

We need to start holding the politicians that create the gun-free killing zones" repsonsible for imiting the right of free Americans to defend themselves. Obviously, the politician is not responsible for pulling the trigger- anymore than I am - but they are often responsible for me not being allowed to defend myself from a violent criminal who obeys no law.

Bloomberg blames guns -- I blame Bloomberg.

Politicians are responsible by dint of vexation of the law. I've always thought of a No Guns Policy as a tortious interference. Oh, well.

My argument - which may soon appear on News With Views dot com this weekend - is that a lawsuit will ensue and new law will come of it. Private property is a right, of course, but one does not check their own civil rights at the door as a condition of entrance. I've argued that adult students do not check their second amendment right at the Admissions Office as a condition of attending college. One may cooperate and surrender first amendment details to go to college, but the second amendment is absolute where the first is not.

Colleges boast how they assume responsibility for student safety by blocking guns, but so many campuses affirm second amendment rights and impeach the no guns policy.

I'm hoping a lawsuit will illuminate these issues and meet with substantive changes in repealing gun control. I'm looking forward to legal actions filed against the theater for their signage and its causal relationship (if any) in the carnage by way of interference in a right-to-carry state.

Great points, John.

I've often come back to what Dr. Susanne Hupp (who was there in the Luby, TX shooting) said: "How a politician stands on the Second Amendment tells you how he or she views you as an individual... as a trustworthy and productive citizen, or as part of an unruly crowd that needs to be lorded over, controlled, supervised, and taken care of."

I hope that Romney takes your advice, and tries to understand US!
