George Rogers Clark, Ted Weiland and God's Laws

George Rogers Clark is good at writing commentaries which are inspiring. The commentaries tend to be thought provoking as well. On January 14, 2013 George posted a commentary entitled “Non Compliance: I Will Not Comply.” The commentary was about President Obama's proposed controls on citizen's ownership of firearms.

George forcefully points out that God's Law is superior to man's law. Or as George wrote, man's law is secondary to God's Law. God's Law defines things in terms of man's responsibilities rather than rights. In this case, the responsibility to protect family, property and one's fellow man. We are, thus, being obedient to God's Law if we do not comply with Obama's proposed laws. George and fellow Theological scholar Ted Weiland provide more than ample Biblical references in which God defines man's responsibilities. This is a remarkable commentary. If you haven't read it, do.

As I said earlier, the commentary is also very thought provoking. What other responsibilities do we have that our government has taken away, is taking and proposes to take? Our faith – when and where we can pray and the imposition of the faithless religion of atheism on us; our moral responsibilities – the murder of the unborn and the invasion of parental responsibilities involved in raising our children morally in a moral environment; our freedom to speak – we are required to be politically correct or be racists or hate mongers; our economic freedom and responsibility to provide for our families – severely limited by law, regulations and taxes and the invasion of Illegal foreigners; and so many others. I am not a scholar. My faith is based on what I believe to be my personal relationship with our Creator and the loving guidance He has given me. Among other things I am an avid patriot because of that guidance. It's a personal matter as all faith is. Others may not agree. But that really doesn't matter.

As George would say, with all “rights "there are parallel responsibilities. At Independence Hall in 1776, 56 men of faith unanimously stated, "We hold these truths to be self evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.” Among, but not limited to these rights. Maybe I should have added “responsibilities.”

This is a new reminder of how deep we are in trouble and what I believe we must do. We quickly forget the unpleasant. Over many years – generations – politicians and bureaucrats have systematically assumed our rights and responsibilities, some so quietly we haven't even noticed it. Now we find ourselves in a position where we can't protect ourselves, our families and our property without becoming by “man's” law, criminals. We have lost our freedoms – God given responsibilities – without noticing.

So what do we do now? I believe there are several things we must do. First, I believe we must recommit ourselves to God's Law and the responsibilities which accompany it. I believe we must identify those responsibilities that government has taken from us in order to chart a course of action to recover them. We must follow George's advice. Be obedient to God and refuse to comply with the laws, regulations and social pressures which have stripped us of our responsibilities. We must organize ourselves so that we are more effective. We must recognize which courses of action will not or cannot work. We cannot expect congress to restore our responsibilities. Through such folks as Ron and Rand Paul (bless them), I have been asked to contact congress for one reason or another. I have done that and sent money to help. All to no avail. And our experience at the election box has taught us that there is no solution there. The establishment is too moneyed and fraud has become another issue. For some reason our conservative leaders don't have the ability to learn from experience. They keep trying the same old things in the same old way with the same old results – talking about it or writing about. Doing something is the human way to avoid unpleasant necessities. We need to solve the problem now. Our government is run by traitorous officials bent on destroying our Republic. We have to rid our nation of the traitors, then reform our nation by restoring our constitution's original intent. What can we do? First be obedient to God's Law, peacefully. Simultaneously, we must expell the traitorous officials peacefully through a new Declaration of Independence and Constitutional Convention. Changes in the Constitution might include severe penalties for willful violations of oaths. Penalties should include prohibition from ever holding political office again and from ever being or controlling a lobbyist.

I advocate a new Declaration as one way to restore America. There may be other, better ways and I am open to them. I am certain that something has to be done quickly or it will be too late. As I have said before, The New Declaration would assemble a documented of charges and indictments against President Obama and Congress (complicit) replacing the charges and indictments against King George in the original Declaration. It would be the vehicle for ridding America of its self-serving traitorous leaders. (I say traitorous based on the fact that the consequence of their actions is the destruction of the Republic.) The heart and soul of this bold action would be, as George has advised, compliance with God's Laws.

That's how I see the situation as it is today. I am fallible, but we are in real trouble as a Republic. We have lost all of our checks and balances. It is my heartfelt wish that there be an effective, painless way to solve our problem. I thank Heaven that George has suggested following God's Laws as the basis for finding a solution. If anyone has other better thoughts, please tell me. Tell us.

Murray, thank you for your kind words regarding my perspectives on solutions for America. I have been a little out of touch the last few days and just saw this essay. Your love of God and Country are passionately expressed and I believe your ideas for solutions are worthy. Your point that we have lost our checks and balances startled me with its obvious truth. I had never thought of it that way. But you are so correct. Because we have become oppressed by incremental steps, over time, it has not been clear (until recently) that our government had become what Ted has called a "Two-headed bird of prey."

Your word about being an avid Patriot because of His guidance strikes a cord with me. My parents gave me a famous name from our family tree. That probably had something to do with my case of flaming patriotism. But I must confess, Murray, I really started coming alive as a patriot after I learned that the Lord actually loved and "saved a wretch like me." And more recently, when I began to fully understand that the first settlers to America were literally claiming a new Promised Land... well, I was ready to be a "preacher-patriot" at the drop of a hat.

"So what do we do now?" Well, Murray I agree with all of your ideas. No effort to put God first, fulfill our part of His covenants with us, and obediently seek His help and blessings for healing American could be wrong.

If we love America, what choice do we have? Can we solve these overwhelming problems by our own power? Have we had any movement in the right direction in the last 100 years? How can we solve these problems without the help and blessings of the Lord? Why would we want to try?

Murray, I know the Lord has blessed you. Your strength and will to carry on after your recent, painful loss is inspiring to me. Thank you for your example of good character, honesty, and love of God and Country.

Murray, Great article! The problem as I see it is getting people to stand-up and get involved. I passed out the flyer George did and I would bet that not a one of those who read it went to the website. They sit around and whine and cry about how Obama is destroying the Constitutiion and the country but will not get involved in any way to stop the stupidity and help put us back under God's laws and the Constitution. They like to call liberals mindlless sheep but it makes me wonder just who are the sheep.

It's impossible for us to be under two different constitutions (God's law and the U.S. Constitution) that are diametrically opposed to each other in numerous ways. And, don't overlook that because the framers made the U.S. Constitution in Article 6 the Supreme Law of the Land that where the two are inimical to each other that it's the Bible that must give way to the Constitution, not the other way around. And it's for this reason that such things as infanticide and sodomy are rampant in America today, not only rampant but financed by the Constitutional Republic.

Learn His laws, Teach them, walk in them, apply them to everything.

It's funny - even a judeo-Christian who thinks the law is done away with, will usually concede on some things - all needs be done is to shine the light on what opens one of their darkened eyes to a truth and in time more will fill the void. When new truth destroys part of their unsolid foundation, more bedrock of perfection can embed itself and support more truths.

Many people shrug off the Bible because they feel it isn't 'relevant' in today's world. This sounds very familiar and relevant to me. Israel, ebbed and flowed in and out of 'occupation' for nearly 350 years, depending directly on the level of their commitment to God and his laws. Maybe we place our constitution a little too high on the list of priorities-where God and his ten commandments used to be. It is a shame that many people have never been taught the significance of God’s blessings and protection in our nation’s history. Now they will learn the significance of living outside God’s provision, if they can make the connection- to this nation's decline. We were not an 'experiment' and we were not 'destined to fail, like Rome'. The chances are that as a NATION we might never 'Trust in God' again because the influence of evil is glorified and the lack of knowledge of him among our children is so sparse. Nevertheless, God listens to honest requests from those who turn from their sin and apathy. He didn't act in the case of the famine in Naomi's day for around 10 years after the people prayed. I suggest we start now.

well Murrey, i think the time is almost here, that the only way to "win back" our Republic is with lead and brass. i do not think it will be a "win" for us, simply because in this modern age of electronics, THEY can and are keeping track of us. case in point.
this last elk hunting season, 3 young men put down an elk, after they were done with the animal, quartering it and hanging the quarters in the surrounding trees and buring the guts, a wolf showed up in camp. 2 of the men drew down on the wolf with their rifles, but did not shoot it. their lucky day. 2 hours later, 2 pickups with state police and state game officers showed up in the camp. one of the cops said "good thing you didnt shoot the wolf, we were watching you via satellite".
now i do not know if this is a true story or not. but i certainly would not be surptised if it is.
point being---we have been captured before we fight back.
i do not know the answer, unless it is trust God, live by his Grace, and keep doing what we are doing. prepare!!

Who's going to prosecute these scalawags (and scalawag-ettes), Eric Holder? Some State's Attorney General that are close to, if not just as bad?

And of course the trial and sentence upon conviction by judges from the current Admiralty/Maritime/Roman Civil law courts bearing the symbol of the goddess Justitia are going to judge righteously, aren't they?

I Don't think this is the place to go for justice (e.g., 1 Corinthians 6: 4-5.).

Perhaps focusing on the restoration of the true function of The Body of Christ (Church), part of which is the affairs of state, might be time better spent.

In the mean time, how about not feeding the beast?

How many so called "patriots" and "Christians" continue to feed it with their annual (or weekly, etc.), offerings? Oh no, they have to do that because if they don't, they might get in trouble. These are the ones that when push comes to shove are going to make a stand?

There are other ways to stop feeding the beast as well.

P.S., If you think the Sheriffs are going to help, don't hold your breath.

Regarding my P.S., some of the Sheriffs and their recent "Stand For Gun Rights" statements and letters have received a lot of attention from the patriot community.

What I find amazing is how these Sheriffs are made out to be "heroes" and "defenders of liberty" because of statements and letters of intent to defend their county's "people's right to bear arms".

Most of theses Sheriff's track records on respecting "rights and liberties" hasn't exactly been stellar over the last 70 years or so. What makes anyone think they'll be any better now? "Oh yeah, your guns are safe on my watch."

Where were any of these Sheriffs that are now making such statements and writing letters when all the rest of your freedoms and liberties were being taken from you ???

These are the same ones that are in charge of enforcing all those draconian laws you're now oppressed by as well as those who pull you over and demand "your papers please" (a.k.a. driver's license, registration and proof of insurance).

With this Sandy Hook and resultant debates ruse, the distraction from what's really coming down continues.

I'd say that Turning back to The King of kings and His Laws Statutes and Judgments is a much better deal. Matthew 11: 28 - 30.
