The chairman of the RNC should’ve gotten the attention of the republican candidates and disciplined them as soon as they formed a circular firing squad. Everytime someone rose to the top the other republicans along with the liberal media hammered them. As I have already predicted, if Newt Gingrich got the nomination, he would lose the presidential election. Likewise, if Romney is nominated the Republican candidate, he will lose as well and the conservatives and Republicans will have lost their last chance. Sorry, just mark my word here on April 11, 2012, the Republicans will lose the presidential election in November. By the way, I am a conservative to the core! Many people are very skeptical about the Mormon religion. I am also a Christian.

To: M.Jo Dermody & Dannie: Any Vote for Ron Paul is a vote for Obama. If that is what you want, then go for it. I personally want Obama out of office and will vote for the Republican Candidate the Republican Convention puts forward. Romney is not my favorite, but he can't be worse than Obama, who is so far left that the likes of Hugo Chavez and Castro will look like Democratic rulers. History has shown that a third party candidate spoils the election for the possible winner and does nothing for the US Citizens or its Government, except to keep the bad ones in power. I want all Democrats and independents, that side with the Democrats out of office, so we have a super majority in both houses of Congress. Maybe then we can improve society the way it should be improved. I am pretty sure, Romney can do that. Ron Paul doesn't stand a chance of winning anything! Obama is circumventing the US Constitution and is not executing the law of the land- only what suits him. He is already trying to stop Freedom of Speech and will attempt to get rid of the Right to Bear Arms if he is reelected. He has his surrogate in the Chicago mayor’s office already doing his bidding. Is this what you really want? You must be insane!

Mr. Obama, credit his puppeteers, bought the Oval Office in the run up to 2008. Granted, he was running against another Democrat with a Republican coat. Not a real contest. The media faithfully smeared Sarah Palin, the best candidate, very successfully. Mr. Romney is a re-enactment of the run up to 2008. He is Obama-lite. Another Democrat in a Republican coat. The best hope for the Republic is that the ongoing investigation of Mr.Obama--his origins, his questionable documentation, will remove him from the People's House. Should that come to pass the People will, hopefully, reject Mr. Biden and Mr. Romney. I would not board a vessel either of these men commanded. They do not inspire Trust, an absolute essential in any military commander. And the person in the Oval Office is, in fact, a military commander. Who is left? Mr. Gingrich. We have in the wings Mr. Cain, Mrs. Palin, and a couple of others with excellent credentials. If Mr. Obama is not removed, he will again buy the Oval Office. Romney cannot beat him. Which will signal the demise of this once great Republic. Let us pray.

Santorum emerges from this race with the dignity of a high-achiever. He was a major element on the national stage for over 4 months; previously ignored or ridiculed by all media, other candidates, Saturday Night Live and all debate moderators, as irrelevant and wooden. His achievement during this campaign placed him in a position of much higher elevation than his predecessors and peers. He is Palin-like in his approach and ideology; but appears to have been a student of the treatment she received at the hands of the MSM and blogosphere. Santorum has the raw material to become a Reagan-like force for the future. As with Reagan, he may successfully buck the establishment "R" machine and redefine the Republican Party as a true home for conservative Americans in future elections. We outnumber liberals and progressives by a healthy majority. His bruises will heal, by the grace of God, his darling daughter Bella and family will recover. By that same grace of God, he will rise as a true conservative force within the new or old Republican Party. And: hopefully Fox will keep their hands off of him and allow him to remain in the image that he is developing, rather than the cartoon they seem to create out of rising conservative stars.

I was saddened that Rick Santorum dropped out of the Republican race. I thought that he had the best conservative ideas and I hope that they will become a part of the Republican platform. Fellow USA Citizens: (I prefer USA to Americans as We are only one Nation in many in he Americas.) If Romney is the eventual nominee for the Republicans and you either don't vote because you are so conservative that Romney is beneath you or you feel Romney is just like Obama, you are a traitor to the US Constitution and to our Forefathers, who formed this Great Country, Constitution and Government. If, during the 2008 Election , the 20 percent of the conservatives, who did not vote because they felt McCain was too liberal, had voted for McCain, we would not be in the situation we are in now. Just think before you decided either not to vote or vote for someone other than the Republican candidates, President, House and Senate. They will be better than those we have in office now. While I am at it, let’s enforce the Voter ID laws, so that only registered voters can vote.

We should give him SPECIAL THANKS for bartering with Spectre and giving us THOMAS AND ALITO for supreme ct justices. It will make a difference in the decision on the healthcare mandate!!!!He gave us the welfare reform act in 1996 which put many people back in jobs. He gave us the partial birth abortion ban!! Santorum and Gingrich have done more to re-elect Obama than anyone else could have. Axelrod, Messina, Plouffe and Wasserman-Schultz have had a great time watching the GOP circular firing squad in action. It's going to take months for the GOP to repair what may turn out to be irreparable damage. Santorum's refusal to endorse Romney is like a petulant child tripping over his lower lip. As far as I am concerned, Santorum has no future in GOP politics after his meltdown stating Obama is a better choice than Romney. Santorum will always be known as a modern day Benedict Arnold to his party.

I haven't seen so much blatant corruption since the last presidential election in 2008 when 35+ million too many votes were cast and counted and a usurper installed in office in Washington.The GOP elites are obviously going to force their chosen NWO and big government candidate, Mitt Romney, on the American people, regardless of who the people want as a GOP candidate.I haven't figured out if the GOP seriously wants to lose this election, or if they just want to play the game out, regardless of the results.I will never vote for a democrat again, and I have left the republican party and will never return. I feel very sad for America. Others seem to think that the fact that Romney had to change his rhetoric and platform to include conservative principles and values is a good result of Santorum's involvement in the campaign. I feel that the fact that Romney changed his message is merely evidence that he is not a true conservative at heart and that changing the message to get elected is just more of the "same old same old" from the GOP leadership. I feel tricked and betrayed into again voting for their candidate instead of one who really has America's best interest at heart, the one who shares my core values which are the values stated by our Party platform and our Nation's Constitution. Looking at Romney's past voting record, his policies and his liberal values and statements made makes me distrust what he will do in office after elected. It is not just about winning this election to me, but about direction we are heading as a nation and our future as a free people! Don't get me wrong, the Obama administration must go! In my opinion, he should be impeached immediately if the evidence of falsifying all of his legal papers in order to be the most powerful leader in the world is investigated and proven to be true, let alone for giving away our national treasure and secrets as a nation to our enemies while compromising Israel's security, our best ally. Where are our Free Press, elected officials and the GOP leadership on exposing and bringing these things to justice? Where are our Free Press, elected officials and the GOP leaders when it comes to holding our President to account on his oath to uphold the Constitution? When Sheriff Arpaio has to resort to the European media and the internet to report these scandals because our own media is afraid to touch it, something is tragically wrong with free speech in America. If the exact same evidence existed about a Republican in the White House, there would be such an outcry that he would not be able to continue in office, (Nixon/Watergate was nothing compared to this!). Now, without Santorum's conservative voice to offer hope of a turn-around, it seems that we are doomed to follow along in the same direction as the current administration, only about 20 years behind them or so. The bottom line is that we will eventually end up at the same destination, which is what moderates and liberals in our own party have been leading us to do for years. Maybe "they" (the enemies of individual freedom and free enterprise) have already won, we just don't realize it yet! May God help America and open blinded eyes...we are on the precipice!

The most money won the GOP primary and gave us a candidate that no one really wants to support, but will support becuause he is Republican, albeit a flip-flopping RHINO.Will the US and world be a better places with Romney as President? I honestly don't know because I don't have a sense of who or what Romney is or wants to become. As someone observed, Romney looks at America through a rear view mirror.Still, perhaps a corporate executive is just what America needs right now. There is too much pure emotion in the air and not enough critical thinking. Too much partisanship and not enough concern for what is best for America and the rest of the world. America has to stop the deficit crisis began by the Bush administration. Finally, America needs to rein in its runaway social entitlement and health care systems without throwing Grannie under the buss.

The Republicans made their big mistake long ago when they decided to climb into bed with the religious right extremists. By doing so, they handed an enormous amount of influence to a bunch of radical Bible-thumpers who deny basic science, want to ban abortion and birth control, and think the world is coming to an end. To a reasonable person, such nonsense is (and should be) intolerable, but the GOP is now held hostage to the evangelical movement. On the other side, the Democrats have been taken over by would-be communists with a taste for fascism when it comes to dictating and controlling every citizen's personal decisions and lifestyle. So those of us who would prefer common sense and the Constitution be the basis of our government are left adrift in the middle. I felt the Republicans fielded a very poor selection of candidates. Most were 'has-been' and are somewhat tarnished politically.My personal choice of the field was Santorum with Gingrich a close second. Neither wre great presidential quality. Romney is NOT a Conservative, in fact, his record says he is not much right of Obama - Verified by Soros comments.I agree he moved his campaign retoric to the right because of Santorum but it is very likely it is only temporary. After election he will revert to another Obama.I personally see little hope for the free USA Republic. At best we will lose world currency status and the debt will destroy the value of the dollar. We will be somewhere between the thirties depression and the Germans before Hitler took power.At the worst we will end up with a dictator and become either a Socialist/Communist State or and Islamic State. If Obama winns the election I predict the latter.

Santorum is a strong social conservative it's true, but his senatorial record bespeaks someone siding with big government. With our hope of getting a Conservvative President having been dashed and our hope of defeating Romney at the Convention our only hope is to strongly support a third party. It appears that romney is going to be the nominee and as a result I will no longer support or be a part of the Republican party. I will only support true Conservatives in the realm of a third party. My choice will be the CONSTITUTION PARTY. Actually I am not leaving the republican party it has left me. I now do not have a clear choice for President from the republican side. A choice between obama and obama is no choice at all. I refuse to vote for the evil obama clone romney. I spent the last three years trying to convert my young stepson from voting for obama again and now I must convince him that the republicans are not really any better

Thank you Mr. Santorum for your influence on Romney and maybe the others. I have always said that if candidates would get wise and deal with the ISSUES instead on slamming each other they would fare much better with the American Public. We do not care to hear negative campaign ads. There is too much negative in the world now. I also applaud Rick Santorum for putting his family first. I really had high hopes for Santorum when he started out in the Senate but he ran off the rails. His rescue of Arlen Specter was the death blow for me. His support of the stupid 'no child left behind' bloated legislation showed me that he was all for big, fat government. People have zero memory and while he was talking a good game on the campaign trail, the realty of his past was much different.

Caught me by surprise. Santorum had driven his bid for the nomination like a fire engine enroute to a 4-Alarm. Then his daughter was hospitalized and he went home to be with his family. Good for him. Then the news broke about him postponing his run for the GOP nomination.Gives rise to 3; maybe more, reasons for the rapid change. First, his young daughter may be far more ill than they are disclosing. That's terrible. Second, he perhaps has reached an "accord" with Romney wherein Santorum will "accept" Romney's selection of himself as the running mate of the most obvious next GOP nominee for election to the Presidency. Third, Santorum is withdrawing with a very strong showing thus far in the great run-off for identifying the GOP candidate for next November's Presidential campaign, but he knows he will not beat Romney in the rate for electoral votes, so he is withdrawing now to make a very strong run in either 2016 or 2020. He is certainly young enough; and smart enough, to perhaps be right if this was his intention.Looks like ole' Newt will hang on anyway. That's a bit sad. We don't need Newt to siphon off any votes within the GOP simply to make himself more potentially available as; perhaps, the front-runner's Vice Presidential selection.Makes things interesting once again. What a ride this has been and now promises to continue.

@Kathy: When you asked "Where is 2012 Ronald Reagan - he truly was a great man?" you failed to mention that in 1980 Ronald Reagan was about in the same place that Mitt Romney is today. Reagan had a reputation as a moderate and popular governor in a liberal state, changed from a liberal to a conservative (Reagan was a Democrat who switched parties), signed liberal policies into law (no-fault divorce, tax increases, etc.), yet went on to become arguably one of the best presidents in our history. Give Mitt a chance if you will, and see if he can grow into the office. Enough with the whining and hand wringing, people!

To wjm and the other anti- Ron Paul people: "treason" is not only far too strong a word to use against his supporters, it is also wrongly targeted. The real treason is to be found in the current Executive branch.You claim Mr. Paul's foreign policy is "crazy" or "loony." After months of consideration and study of current world events, I have come to the opposite conclusion. Consider North Korea and Iran: they have gotten serious mileage out of their nuclear programs, far beyond what they would have gotten had they simply announced they had purchased working nuclear bombs on the black market. For many years, all the way back to the Clinton administration, North Korea has been able to use its nuclear program to solicit bribes or extort payoffs in the form of free food and other goodies. Iran has been able to drive up the price of its oil by 20+% with its nuclear diplomatic games. This is because they were able to get more serious consideration than they deserved.Ron Paul would bring that to a quick halt. So what if the mad mullahs have a nuclear weapon? We'll just put up some missile defenses and let it be known if they even twitch near their launch button, we'll be ready to stomp on them. Likewise North Korea. But we aren't going to let them tie us down and force us into unbearably expensive foreign defensive postures. The fact is, having a nuclear weapons development program is at present far more valuable to these conniving regimes than actually having nuclear weapons. Ron Paul's foreign policy would neutralize their schemes.US foreign policy is long overdue for a full review. We have missed many opportunities in the last twenty years to shape events to our advantage, and we have wasted a lot of resources wielding big sticks in the wrong places. (Why is is it still "necessary" to have a huge army in Europe?) While our president schemes to make life expensive and miserable for our business enterprises, China sends its business agents all over the world to buy up scarce natural resources. We need to do the same, but in order to do so we have to shore up our purchasing power through fiscal prudence instead of squandering it on government giveaway problems.Like it or not, America is a world-class empire - not of military conquest, but of business and economic influence. However, if we continue to hinder or destroy our own economy as the current administration is doing, we will be like the old wolf forced to pick over the scraps after all the others have had their fill. Our military power will be worthless if we cannot afford to support it. On the other hand, a show of non-interventionism while maintaining a strong military rapid deployment capability at home can do more to forestall problems than multiple forces spread around the globe with little funding available to sustain an action. (Let the world wonder: are we really pacifist, or will we bite if we are bothered?) Think about that a while before you dismiss the possibilities of a Ron Paul presidency.

Radioactive dating has been blind-tested multiple times using volcanic rocks from historically documented recent eruptions, and has frequently been off by more than four orders of magnitude (meaning the dating results were at least 10,000 times as old as the rocks actually were).The bottom line is that a good share of the Christian right is not gullible enough to accept Lyell's old-earth story or Darwin's hypothesis as "basic science" (although some are). I like your discussion far more. Other comments are leading to Mr.Paul. Only thing is, a third party will almost insure another tour for Mr. Obama. That is, if he does not go to prison for fraud. I used to be one of those who said something to the effect that I liked many of Ron Paul's positions but was disturbed by his foreign policy. Then it occurred to me that I was simply parroting what everyone else was saying and decided to find out for myself. My view is, anyone who has not read his "A Foreign Policy of Freedom" is speaking from a position of ignorance. I've yet to meet anyone uncomfortable with his foreign policy who has read this book. I'm not an expert, but I cannot find anything unconstitutional in his foreign policy, not to mention not finding anything unreasonable. On the contrary, it is all based on the Constitution. I believe he is intentionally misrepresented because all the career politicians and their beneficiaries (which includes business, labor, military, pretty much you-name-it except the so-called common folk) stand to lose big if he is elected. And he's electable if enough of us learn the truth and speak it. (That's assuming the votes are counted legitimately, which may be a huge assumption.)

The number one goal was to send the Chicago Cockroach packing, The SECOND AND MOST IMPORTANT is to rid ourselves of CONgress that couldn't muster up an impeachment, throw out the thieves, liars, and non-taxpayers. Hell, they can't even get rid of the gun runner Holder, or stop him from interfering in voter ID laws. Add to that that this CONgress of fools actually ALLOWED the Mexican President to speak against one of our own States in OUR HOUSE!Y'all gotta get your damned heads examined if you don't think these are the FIRST priorities of people who wish to defend Essential Liberty. Voting for Ron Paul is they same as voting for Obama. YOU KNOW IT and you cannot defend yourselves by saying, "I voted for the right man; it's those others who voted directly for Obama." That is PURE BS and you damn well know it. If it comes to pass that you vote that way or, choose not to vote at all, please, if we pass on the street, don't bother to speak to me. Go and may your chains rest lightly--- you are not my countryman. Let's not speak of his wealth, religion, and specific issues. Please be willing to hammer home the candidates best qualities in contrast to the man-child puppet sitting in the WH. It is a sad day when a principalled and God fearing man steps out of the race and we are left with a nominal candidate with a record similar to the present incumbant and has no distinction on which to run. The republican establishment fails to understand the electorate and their desire to return to the basics of our government as put forth in that venerable document, the Constitution of the United States of America. God have mercy on us and open our eyes to His truth before we are destroyed from within. This voter has had enough from the republican party as it stands today.

I'm sad to see Mr. Santorum leave the race.He showed what hard work and perserverence can achieve. I supported him because of his moral values. I firmly believe we need the moral values to succeed as a person and a nation.The Rise and fall of the Roman Empire is being brought to mind with the way our country is going at this time.I will support our candidate if it is Romney, but I am not comfortable with him being the best we could do.I do hope Mr. Santorum will have some part to play in the next administration should it be a Republican one.

I am disappointed that Mr. Santorum withdrew from the race. I recognize it was the logical choice because his chances for winning were almost none. I liked Mr. Santorum because he stood for making a real change in how this country is governed, and he spoke so plainley that you could understand what he really was saying. Mr. Romney represents more of the established republican politics we have seen in recent years. He is a much better option than Obama, but just another swing of the pendelum in this governmental clock that is winding down. The real tradegy is that when the people get in the voting booth, they vote for what they think is the best option for them personally, and not for what they think might be best for the country. They are not willing to make any personal sacrafice to improve even the future of their own children. I will vote for Romney is he is the republican candidate, however it will be like taking a dose of bitter medicine that I don't beleve will help in the long run.

Well my fellow American's it seems that the establishment has made our choices for president. Neither of which I like and in fact like only one just slightly more than the other. I believe it is time to elect a citizen, one with no party favor, one who cares more about his/her country than politics or party affiliation. Therefor I am willing to put my family through the ringer, we are not without skeletons, we are not perfect and I may not be electable based on my opinions on certain subjects. I am sure that I have more love for this country & respect for the Constitution than the current 1600 resident and the presumptive GOP nominee. I said from the beginning that unity was far more important than who BHO opponet would be. We should have forgot the primary and waste of money and waste of debates that would eventually destroy any advantages the conservatives would have & need. The solution would be to lock all candidates in a warehouse somewhere and not release them until they debated and voted among themselves who would be the single candidate to emerge and run against BHO.
