She's also wrong about Jesus thoughts on self defense. In Luke chapter 22, Jesus specifically tells the disciples to buy a sword and to sell their cloak to buy one if they don't have one. From the context in the passage, it's obvious he wants them to be able to protect themselves. Jesus did warn against "living by the sword", but he obviously differentiated between defending yourself and being a criminal.
