Members the Utah National Guard’s 19th Special Forces Group allegedly hosted sexy British swimsuit models at their Draper compound. The deviation from their mission to train for paramilitary operations has been met with an investigation.
The Utah Department of Public Safety and the Utah National Guard are both investigating how the British “Hot Shots 2015” calendar was shot at the military installation without authorization, a local Fox affiliate reported Friday.
“This year we’re shooting the calendar in Utah, in the U.S. of A!” British model Rosie Jones says at the introduction of the video, which was posted on YouTube Thursday. “We’ve got loads of tanks, boats, helicopters and, of course, loads of guns!”
The Utah National Guard put out a statement regarding its investigation that reads in part: “Use of military equipment, facilities, and personnel in civilian for-profit endeavors such as this requires approval of National Guard Bureau Public Affairs through the respective state National Guard Headquarters. There was no official approval for this project. The investigation will determine if
Utah National Guard equipment, facilities, and personnel were used in the
Hot Shots 2015 calendar production and required actions if this is the case.”
Utah’s Democratic House Minority Leader Jennifer Seelig was quick to voice her disapproval of the any participation by the Utah soldiers, saying “It flies in the face of any progress we have made in the military and sends out this archaic message to girls and women that their true value lies in their body parts,” the local station reported.
The local Fox affiliate said it was unable to reach the makers of “Hot Shots 2015″ for comment on Thursday.
