The Patriot Post's mission is to advocate for Essential Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and to promote free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values. Our objective is to provide Patriots across our nation with a touchstone of First Principles through brief, informative and entertaining analyses of relevant news, policy and opinion from reputable research, advocacy and media organizations, so they may better support and defend those Principles, and enlist others to join our ranks." —Mark Alexander, Publisher
The Patriot Post is not sustained by any political, special interest or parent organization, and we accept no advertising. Our mission and operations are funded entirely by the voluntary financial support of Patriots like you!
And here's the point missed, when discussing government building of infrastructure -- if government hadn't gotten involved, it would be CHEAPER now. Example: railroads transport stuff way cheaper than trucks, but the highway lobby (truckers, unions, oil companies, etc.) won the influence fight, and Eisenhower used the wartime example of the German Autobahns (while ignoring the incredible rail system) to push the legislation and funding. So now we have no rail system, and are stuck with the road methods and the price increases. Government funding and rules inevitably warp the decisions made, the market created, and the price of it all. The businesses and products that "make it" in USA today are the result of protection and manipulation of government (one way or another) as much as true innovation and market demand. There are exceptions, of course: the Model T, the iPhone & iPad, the Internet. Take the taxes, regulations, and funding out of the market, and it will all get cheaper.
