The goal in the effort of communication is to get your audience to listen to you. I have tried all sorts of stuff, such as dragging an empty box up on stage and peering into it from time to time as if checking on a critter. But, I also tried very hard to not LOSE an audience. That is the difference between an entertainer, and an idiot. When an "entertainer" or speaker begins to say stupid stuff, or use bad language, I conclude that he or she has little to say, and no clue how to say it. I then disengage. Those listeners or "fans" who listen to foulmouthed cult figures or "entertainers" have empty heads. When rock music came out, much of it sounded like a plugged in electric guitar being used to change a tire. I tirelessly tried to convince my friends that this was not talent, or entertainment, and they were all citizens of the country where the Emperor with No Clothes ruled. Worry not, a few years from now, no one in the new generations will recognize the names of the foulmouthed, no talent idiots who believe that they are icons of culture. Kids will grow up and realize how stupid they were in their youth, and might even start voting Republican---if they did not destroy their brains with drugs and booze, in which case they will vote Democrat.
