The Right Opinion
Liberal, Just Another Word for Stupid
I can't tell you how many times I've asked myself how it is that so many of my fellow Americans can actually go out and vote for people as ignorant as Patty Murray, Barbara Boxer and Hank Johnson. Rep. Johnson, in case he's slipped your mind, is the Democrat representing Georgia's 4th congressional district, whose claim to fame is that during a House Armed Services Committee hearing, he asked Admiral Robert Willard if he shared the congressman's concern that adding 8,000 servicemen and their families to the 175,000 civilians on the island could cause Guam to tip over and capsize.
The truth is, even if you ignore their politics, it would be hard to imagine any group of people in which this trio would not stand out by reason of their ignorance.
But just as often, I've found myself wondering why Fox keeps offering up the likes of Juan Williams, Leslie Marshall, Geraldo Rivera, Alan Colmes, Marc Lamont Hill and Bob Beckel. I sit at home listening to these donkeys braying the same predictable talking points to each and every question, and I find myself dismissing Fox's claims to being fair and balanced. If that's their intention, I say to myself, why is it they never invite some intelligent people on to present the liberal side of issues?
Then it struck me. There is no intelligent argument that can be made for liberalism. All any of them can do is parrot the same insipid sound bites dreamed up by the likes of Barack Obama, James Carville, David Axelrod, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, and regurgitated ad nauseam by Jay Carney.
There is a very good reason why there's nobody on the Left who is comparable to Charles Krauthammer, Mark Levin, Thomas Sowell, Brit Hume, Ann Coulter, Dennis Prager, Walter Williams, Mark Steyn, Steve Hayes, Bernie Goldberg, Harry Stein, Michael Medved, Mark Alexander, Bret Baier, Michelle Malkin and Lou Dobbs. The reason is that liberals never think for themselves. Aside from plotting how to game the system in order to steal elections, none of them ever has an original thought. Even questioning Barack Obama is regarded as an act of heresy.
What's more, I can prove it. Every liberal in public life has called for abolishing the Second Amendment. Now why is that? I happen to know a number of liberals who own guns. What's more, rich liberals who don't own guns have security people on their payroll who carry them. Even anti-gun advocate Sen. Dianne Feinstein was once found to be packing a heater in her purse, and yet, with a single voice, liberals squeal for the abolition of all firearms. The only reason for all this hypocrisy is because some influential liberal along the way decided it was a divisive issue which could be used as a wedge between them and the rest of us.
How else could a Chicago punk at a San Francisco fund raiser be so certain that he would derive laughter, applause and huge campaign donations, from a bunch of limp-wristed fat cats by demeaning his betters as "those who cling to their guns and their religion"? For good measure, he was well-guarded at the event by a squad of Secret Service agents armed to the teeth.
If you still question my statement that liberalism is synonymous with stupidity, imagine a TV network whose intellectual heavyweights are Chris Matthews, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton, or a now defunct radio network that headlined Al Franken and Janeane Garofalo, whose combined IQ would have to climb a stepladder and then stand on its tippy toes in order to reach triple digits.
The truth of the matter is that if liberals were as smart as they claim, they'd be conservatives.

I also disagree on why the liberal scum don't want us armed. They want to take away our means to resist because then our will to resist will dissolve. And, people claiming to be conservatives have helped them with their incremental assault on our 2nd Amend by agreeing with them that some guns don't have a "purpose" in the hands of John Q. Noise suppressors are legal in most countries and in fact I was told in South Africa, where gun laws are both strict and restrictive, that I was acting like most Americans, in poor taste, because of all the noise I was making with my ported and muzzle braked magnum rifles. Silencers don't create hit men anymore than flies cause horse---. To see what's currently legal but soon to be banned just google "slide fire"TERM LIMITS-IMPEACH-PROSECUTE

When a Democrat mindlessly parrots the party line, reads a teleprompter without stuttering, and is occasionally seen carrying a book, they're called "brilliant" by the adoring media. I'd love to see our President take a (non-public) high school test on the U.S. Constitution just to see if he really is a "constitutional scholar." You can dress up socialism and squirt a little perfume on it, but it will always be an evil, soul-destroying system. Liberal/progressives are too ignorant, arrogant, or wicked to see it.

I'm surprised no one yet has mentioned the Delaware Senator who suggested yesterday that the Post office might be saved by equipping it with electric cars powered by windmills.I agree about the general assessment of liberal intelligence. But maybe we can capitalize on it. If this November I were to set up a sign outside my polling place that said "TO REDUCE WAITING TIMES, REPUBLICANS VOTE TUESDAY, DEMOCRATS VOTE WEDNESDAY", would that be wrong?

That would be deceptive in intent... which would be anti-American.
Your question demonstrates how some anti-Americans aren't quite aware that they are.
Oh... and of course you must disconnect the cell-powered vehicles from the wind turbine generator BEFORE driving... That's sort of implied (and understood by those who's intelligent).

p3orion: It would not be wrong. If fact I would make it even more enticing by changing the last part to "Democrats Get to Vote Twice on Wednesday."Jim in WNC: Obama is a constitutional scholar like I'm a major league outfielder. The only difference is that there are not millions of people insisting I am one.Burt

Liberal stupidity is a redundancy. The purpose of the Second Amendment is to enable us to get our country back if a despot ever got power. Self defense is secondary. During WW-II a Jap Admiral(I am not PC) when asked about invading the United States answered, It can not be done, there is a gun behind every tree (I am paraphrasing).

Burt,I am finding more and more of my brother firefighters who are going to vote Republican in November to rid 1600 Pennsylvania of this tyrant. They, like me,are not worrying about ourselves and the consequences to our pensions, retirement, etc. We are more concerned for our children and grandchildren's future and the future of this great republic. Thanks for all your inspiration and know that I am passing the word to the brothers to educate themselves by reading the Patriot Post.Fireman Mark.

What I find must disturbing is that Rep Johnson will get re-elected.

@Son: "Worms" is the perfect description.@Burt: Excellent article, but I'm not sure all libs are stupid. I am sure that all are crooked; unfortunately, that goes for the current crop of elected conservatives, also. One can only hope that the libs have convinced each other to rid themselves of guns, making them easier to mow down when the rioting begins. My gun is black, but it's name is "The Emperor Vanilla Shabazz Cracker". All libs, regardless of skin tone, are welcome to come and get some.

Mark: Good news, indeed. Give my regards to all the guys at the firehouse and give the Dalmatian a treat for me.Bob: You have put your finger on the drawback to term limits. Conservatives would lose the likes of Paul Ryan, Darrel Issa and Peter King, but liberals would simply elect younger versions of Hank Johnson, Henry Waxman and Maxine Waters.Holmes: I do believe that liberals are all stupid. That doesn't mean they lack the ability to lie, cheat and steal. That merely means they retain survival skills. It does not mean they are intelligent, even though they keep insisting that the likes of Jimmy Carter, Maureen Dowd and Barack Obama, are brilliant. Keep your powder dry.Burt

Great column Burt. Like others, one of the first thoughts in my head as I read it is that you (modestly) left out your own name. I'll second (or third, or whatever) the motion to add you to the list. You are absolutely correct that liberals are stupid. I'm always bemused and mystified by "studies" that show liberals being smarter than conservatives. Seriously, what sort of questions must they be asking if liberals get the answers right more often than conservatives? Who's Jedward? What are three hit songs by Lady Ga-Ga?Whenever I talk to a liberal about... well, almost anything, I find a tremendous lack of ability to apply reason. Sure, someone who spent six years being indoctrinated on the way to a four-year degree in "Ethnic and Gender Studies" may know more useless trivia than a guy who spent that time being a productive member of society, but that hardly makes him "smarter" in any way that matters.I actually am a genius: took the tests and got the t-shirt: Albert-Freakin'-Einstein-level. (Not bragging: that's just how God made me. I also have defects to counter-balance it.) So when some dim bulb tries to convince me that I should agree with him because of his ability to regurgitate the latest liberal talking points I REALLY enjoy playing "let's-take-a-ride-on-the-logic-train." Setting a logic trap and seeing your liberal companion dive into it head first is the most fun you can have with your pants on - unless you're at the shooting range and your buddy brought the ammunition.

Burt: As an avid Fox-watcher, I have to tell you I cringe when I see one of their liberal contributors begin to spew. I concluded a long time ago that there was a method to Fox's madness -- that is, nobody could be swayed by such a bunch, and as a result there was no place to go, or stay, but right, which is right where Fox wants us to be (whether they say so or not). Sorry for the run-on, but I do run on at times.

Army Officer: I must say I appreciated having you and a few others suggest I should have added my name to the list. I can't disagree, but even I can see where that might have struck a bad note. Like you, I have never come across a liberal in real life who could or would debate an issue honestly. Every once in a while a left-winger shows up at one of the blogs I write for, and calls me a few of the usual names, but I have never yet had one logically and honestly anything I've written. The trick, if that's what one wishes to call it, is that in my articles, I am generally refuting a liberal talking point or a number of such points. I already know what they think and say. I also try to imagine how they would go about refuting my point of view, and because, being a conservative, I am already smarter than they are, I can actually come up with a better way of arguing their side. That being said, it is still the losing side even when I'm making their case.Jeannette: I, too, am a Fox viewer, although perhaps not as avid as you, I record everything I watch on TV, including baseball games, so I can fast-forward through commercials. When it comes to people like Alan Colmes, Geraldo Rivera, Juan Williams and a few of the other fat heads Fox wheels out on a regular basis, I do a great deal of fast-forwarding. Life is simply too short to squander it listening to morons.Burt

Burt, Peter King a conservative, excuse me while I go puke. Check his voting record on guns for one. He is a RINO at best. I used to be on the executive committee of the Nassau county NY Conservative Party. I would always be against supporting him. He makes nice nice with the brain dead Carolyn McCarthy.
