Hooray! Awesome! Yes, exactly! We have seen the enemy, and it is democrats/progressives/socialists and marxists! They must be defeated and destroyed.

If Professor Chambless did not give the money back, it would be a perfect example of communism, oops socialism. I just call it stealing. If one guy sticks a gun in your face, it is called stealing. If 5 people do it, it is a gang. If 100 people are involved it is a mob. If a million or more people do it, it is the government.

Great article, Burt. However, the last time I asked, you said you were confident that Obama would be defeated. I certainly hope your confidence is not erroding! I must confess, it is my nightmare that he should somehow fool the majority of 'numb nuts' that don't think too well into voting him back. Please, God, protect us from fools.

Burt - you're spot on as usual. Please read the followinf excerpt I found on Red State news, its only the quote the rest is mine."To all the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that are out there fighting on my behalf ..." - Barack ObamaREALLY?It would appear this idiot now thinks that our Armed Forces now fight for him instead of our nation. When I served it was ALWAYS for my country, never for a President. This moron has to go!“If ever a time should come, when vain and aspiring men shall possess the highest seats in Government, our country will stand in need of its experienced patriots to prevent its ruin.” ― Samuel Adams

Burt - one minor correction to the above quote - instead of "To all" it reads "When I think of all the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines out there fighting on my behalf ..." - Barack ObamaThe rest of what I said still applies.

I always enjoy your columns. And to Son of Liberty, my oath of enlistment and reenlistment stated that "I will protect and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic." I honored that oath for over twenty years as a Cavalry Scout. What I see in the US now caused me to take a job with the military in Italy. The situation is no better here, but at least I don't weep daily for the idiocy going on at home. A community of Army Soldiers and Us Air Force Airmen is a lot better than a community of "gimme" whiners.

Son of Liberty
Thursday, May 10, 2012 at 9:58 AM

@Hard Thought - I know, I took that very same oath and held it sacred for 20 years. I served MY COUNTRY, supported and defended the United States Constitution against ALL ENEMIES FOREIGN OR DOMESTIC, and have borne true faith and allegiance to that same Constitution and oath. I am an Oath Keeper, and an American raised with the beliefs that are contained in the preamble of the Declaration of Independence, which is the cornerstone of American ideals. I am not a Progressive/Liberal/Communist and they are my enemies. And the situation here is about the same as in 1858 - 1860, a divided nation. So we are quite possible on the cusp of Civil War Part Deux. best it comes soon as I do not want my grandkids to live under Socialism. That is not what I fought for!

To those of you who have served our country, I thank you from my heart. Today, however, I wonder about the young people joining our forces...did they make that oath to Master Narcissist Obama? After all, we're talking about a generation of indoctrinated young people (from kindergarten through college) who may actually believe and fight us citizens if commanded to by the Socialist in power. I believe it could happen. A friend of mine, a rough-and-tumble young Hispanic, joined the army and came back from basic training talking about what a bunch of pansies the recruits were and how they had no particular patriotic feelings about America. Most, he thought, joined because they couldn't find jobs anywhere else. So, just like us older Patriots are fading away, it appears that the younger recruit's patriotism is on the wane. I hope it isn't so, but from what I observe, it may be the case that, if ordered, they would turn against fellow Americans if ordered by the Narcissist in Chief.

I am still afraid that Barry will be dictator for another term. But the vote in West Virginia where a prison convict got 41% of the vote gives me some hope. When it comes out that Barry's birth certificate is a forgery he should be joining the convict in a 8 X 10 room. Sheriff Arpaio seems to have the goods on the common criminal, thanks to his Grand Jury.

This is the oath of enlistment that is currently taken by the Armed Services enlistees. In the Armed Forces EXCEPT the National Guard (Army or Air) I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God. In the National Guard (Army or Air) I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of (STATE NAME) and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God. Guide Note: There has been some controversy about whether the phrase "So help me God" is mandatory. I have seen officers allow enlistees to omit these words, if they choose, according to their religious preference and beliefs. While federal law does not appear to make any part of the oath optional (see Title 10, Section 502 of the United States Code), military regulations often do. For example, the Army enlistment regulation (see Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph 6-18) makes the portion "So help me God" optional.

Son of Liberty-I believe that's pretty much the enlisted oath as it has stood for decades. I think the recent rumors to which Mac alluded (about the oath increasing fealty to the President) are nothing more than that. However, it's worth noting that those are the oaths for enlisted only. Officers take an oath that is much more similar to that taken by elected officials. The final clause (obeying orders of the President, UCMJ, etc.) is removed and replaced by "...that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter, so help me God."If anyone ever had the cajones to impeach Obama, Reid, Pelosi et al for their willing subversion of the Constitution in contradiction to their oaths, they might also look into the "without... purpose of evasion" section, as surely they and many others take their oaths only as a means to an end, and never consider them after that point.

The "gay marriage" support from Obama was easy to predict after two of his posse spilled the beans the day before the one's fatwa. It is now routine for all of Obama's campaign "issues" to be prefaced by his posse first, then der leader grabs the spotlight soon after. Look up the word phony, it will contain a picture of Obama for visual reference.

@Son & @P3: The elected federal public servants, I mean, Cowards have made mockery of The Oath of Allegiance, as well as, personal honor and integrity. Were they subject to the UCMJ prosecution and incarceration would be already in their past for traitorous acts. The greatest hypocrisy is that the loathsome gay marriage advocate in the white house in Queerville can hold the those who volunteer for military service, pansies or not, to a higher standard than that to which he and his fellow despicable politicians are held.

People, Burt is right. We must get off our duffs and educate the younger generation. They are ignorant and vote accordingly. I don't mean they're stupid, I mean they don't know any better & it's up to us to teach them the difference. Unless you're okay with them actually believing that verbal vomit Obama spews?? They don't realize he's lying - the president wouldn't do that!Example: We live in west Texas where the oilfield is doing really good right now. A few months ago my 30-plus-year-old stepson actually said to me that he thought Obama was doing okay because the oilfield is okay. He isn't aware of what's happening to the rest of the country! After I picked my jaw up off the floor, I attempted to explain other issues to him. Let's pray I got through. My point is this: how many more of our kids & grandkids out there have the same attitude? We are all guilty of sidestepping politics in order to avoid family feuds, we let our kids leave not knowing how serious things really are. We have to fix this before it's too late.

Deborah: My confidence is not eroding. In fact, I grow more confident every day that Obama will lose the election.Son of Liberty: I've already written an article which, in part, deals with Obama's reference to the military fighting on his behalf. It may not run for a while because even though the Patriot Post runs three of my articles every week, I sometimes write more than three and, so, they tend to back up.Dave: I get it. They are all fictional creatures. But as I've written before, I don't really expect elected officials to ever want less staff and less influence than their predecessors. That would fly in the face of human nature. On the other hand, Republicans tend to understand that the supply of money is not infinite and, at some point, the piper must be paid.jksisco: Being forced to come out in favor of same-sex marriages was not part of Obama's master re-election campaign. As we all knew from the git-go, he favored it, but he was going to wait for after the election, when, as he told Medvedev, he'd have greater flexibility. But once Joe Biden opened his big yap, Obama was stuck. All I know is if I were Biden, the first thing I would do is hire a food taster.Although my gratitude to my readers who are now in or were ever in the military is boundless, I do believe that we have a very different military today than the one we older folks grew up with. I believe the change began under Bill Clinton and has only grown worse under Obama. We now have a military that is so politically correct that the officers were afraid they'd destroy their careers if they tossed Major Hasan's butt in the stockade or the psycho ward before he had the chance to murder 14 Americans at Fort Hood.Burt

Officers' oath:"I, _____ (SSAN), having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of _____ do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; So help me God." Burt, I disagree about Biden needing a food taster. Don't you think the whole thing was orchestrated for Obozo to "come out" yesterday, as today he is in hollyweird fundraising? It's always about the money.

Thanks to those who provided the oaths of office for military recruits and officers. I note that the oath says: "...I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..."Since the Homeland Security Department has basically termed "white Christian males" as possible terror suspects, and the Narcissist in Chief has talked about bitter gun-clinging religious people, could those groups be considered domestic enemies, and if so, would the military then take action? Nothing would surprise me.I also find it interesting that Obama's new favor for same-sex marriage defies most Christian belief and certainly that of the Bible. So he's a Christian, huh? Yeah, right. In his pipe dreams, he is.

KathyDon't worry...we are succeeding in getting the message out! I started with my sons at a very young age: want it, work for it; don't like it, change it; no one owes you a thing; I will be your guide, I will not be your bank; school teaches you facts; I will teach you about life; school only makes you smart enough to listen and learn from me and your Dad. (and grandparents/elders)Last but not least: Above all, WE most often know what is right; if you disagree you had better be willing to do intellectual battle to support your point in a no-holds-barred fashion. Of course, we added, this is a family; it is not a democracy!Even so, we were not strict parents. We were involved and knew that our children would learn best by examples we set. I'm happy to say that my 27 year old is a conservative with a strong libertarian bent. A capitalist as well. He never needed my advice when it came to voting. His 22 year old brother is conservative with a tad too much "tolerance" due to his great big heart. We always make sure he knows how to vote...not just for candidates but every issue as well. He's smart enough to know that until he does, WE know best. Neither has disappointed us! What's really great is they greatly influence their friends simply because they know more and are looked upon favorably by adults and "peers". Yep, we have been doing our own indoctrination from before they could read. Screw Head Start, public ed and kooky colleges---we had first stab and made the most of it. After all, it was our first JOB as parents!

It hurts Burt when you write negatively about the military. However, when you qualify your opinion by era, I must sadly agree. It’s understandable that the civilian management of the Armed Forces chosen by the president will echo his policies, but the Hassan case is just one of too many instances where senior officers have let PC overrule good leadership. The time will come when we will regret not having any modern day Bull Halsey’s, Chesty Puller’s, Pappy Boyington’s.

Rob: No, I don't believe Biden was following orders. Hollywood was going to cough up millions for Obama. He wanted to hold off until after the election when it wouldn't cost him votes in purple states.W.T.: I get no pleasure for writing negatively about the military, but honesty dictates that I must point out when the emperor is naked, even if it's a uniform about which he's garnering undeserved compliments. DaneChile: It is a game changer in that, thanks to Biden, Obama was forced to declare himself seven or eight months ahead of schedule. Coming out in favor of homosexual marriages could definitely hurt him in purple states. Even now we have Democrats trying to force the DNC to move the convention out of North Carolina.Burt

Hey Burt and Sane USA residents,Earth to Democrat presidents from the '70s to now: stop talking to your daughters about domestic or foreign policy -- they weren't elected to office! And stop enrolling your daughters in D.C.'s Sidwell Friends School, because I'm starting to see a pattern there! This is a tried and true tactic to con the public that Democrats from Carter (Amy briefed him on nuclear proliferation) yet the media always noted he was some kind of nuclear scientist; to Clinton (Chelsea was so upset about the tax cuts for the rich, that she was squawking about it to Hillary while on her cell phone downtown Manhattan the morning of 9/11/01, or according to Bill, she was squawking to him about the tax cuts on her cell while she was several blocks uptown that morning, or according to her, she was at home in her Manhattan apartment watching the commotion on TV and out her window while she was squawking to one of them about the cuts being more concerning to her than her own country getting attacked, with her own home in the thick of it). Now we have His Wishy-Washy-ness, who says his daughters (I, too, always pegged them for Jr. Einsteins) made such winning arguments for "gay marriage" that he just had to shout out his new convictions months before he was really going to do so (after the pesky election), and hadn't fooled anyone with his true stance all along. At least not those of us who pay attention to what he says compared to what he does, where he goes, who he sees, who he shakes down for money, and then proclaims publicly. Mitt Romney has sons, people.
