The Right Opinion
Parrots and People
Many years ago, through odd circumstances, I broke up with one young woman who had a parrot only to take up with another young woman who had a parrot. You might assume I worked in an exotic bird store, but it was just one of those coincidences that sometimes happen even to people who don't put much stock in such things.
The thing that confused me at the time was why anyone would ever want to share their home with one of those creatures. I am referring to the parrots, not the young women. Even though I didn't live with the ladies, on various occasions, when they had to go out of town, it became my responsibility to feed the birds and change their water. And every time I did, I came under attack.
As I say, that was a long time ago, but I only recently figured out what purpose the parrots served. It was to prepare these women to one day be the mothers of teenagers. After all, parrots are notorious for their lousy personalities and their general lack of hygiene. When you factor in their lack of gratitude, which they displayed by attacking me, the person commissioned to provide them with food and water, you can see how closely they resemble an ordinary American teenager.
Another group they very much remind me of are liberals. Just consider a typical group of Occupy Wall Streeters with their screeching, their filth and their repetitious parroting of inane slogans. Stick them on their perches, glue a few colorful feathers on them, and you could fool a team of ornithologists.
For instance, Obama's people invented a fictional woman they chose to call Julia. They used her to point out how Julia advances from the age of three to 67 by constantly depending on the largesse of Obama and the American taxpayer to survive. I suppose the subliminal message is that Obama not only has to be re-elected this November, but a lot of additional Novembers to get Julia through to her 67th birthday. At that point, I assume that Obama's death panel will decide that Julia has lived long enough and is not entitled to undergo heart surgery.
Eric Holder defended the Department of Justice spending millions of dollars prosecuting Roger Clemens for a second time because lying to Congress about his alleged use of human growth hormones was such a serious offense. It just happened to be on the same day that a congressional committee considered citing Holder for contempt for refusing to release documents relating to Operation Fast and Furious.
Apparently we are saddled with an attorney general who thinks getting to the bottom of whether or not Clemens was juiced when he shut out the Minnesota Twins 10 years ago is more important than a gun-running operation that resulted in a U.S. border guard being murdered with one of those guns.
Obama, who quite naturally refuses to run on his record, is, instead, insisting that he needs another four years to finish the job. But because of the near-universal disapproval of ObamaCare, the trillion dollar stimulus, the additional six trillion dollars of debt and his anti-Israel position, he's in the weird position of not being able to tell us exactly what this job is that he wishes to keep doing.
Perhaps he's alluding to the greater flexibility he promised Medvedev he'd have after the election. Still, after refusing to provide Poland and the Czech Republic with an anti-missile defense system and promising to decimate our nuclear arsenal, I bet even Putin is scratching his head, trying to figure out what Santa Obama could possibly have in mind. The blue prints for a drone? The green light to roll Russian tanks back into Georgia, Azerbaijan and the Ukraine? Or perhaps just the deed to Alaska?
Although Obama and his flunkies keep referring to the economy he inherited as the worst since the Great Depression, the fact is that the economy that Reagan inherited from Jimmy Carter was pretty awful. In 1980, the rate of inflation was 13.58% and unemployment was 7.18%, which translated to 20.76 on the misery index. In 2012, inflation is around 3% and although, according to the feds, unemployment is hovering around 8.1%, we all know that underemployment combined with the people who have simply stopped looking for work would raise the actual number to about 15%, making for a miserable, Carter-like, 18% on the misery index.
If Romney poses the question Reagan posed in 1980, "Are you better off now than you were four years ago," just about everyone who's not on Obama's payroll would have to answer with a resounding "No!"
Finally, because I am a frequent viewer of Fox, it's my curse in life to see Juan Williams nearly every time I tune in to Bret Baier's "Special Report," Bill O'Reilly's "The Factor" and Chris Wallace's "Fox News Sunday." I can only assume that he possesses incriminating photos of Roger Ailes.
His singular role on Fox seems to be to spin like a top for the Obama administration and parrot excuses for the man's endless string of failures.
The fact is, Juan Williams expends so much effort carrying Barack Obama's water, I just hope for his sake that he never leaves home without his truss.

If you factor the costs of food and fuel into inflation, inflation would approach 15%. Add the 8.1% of reported unemployment for a 23% misery index.Roseanne and Amy Carter can assuredly hope that the mantle of "Worst President, Ever!" will be removed from Jimmah Cahtah's shoulders and placed squarely on Obama's reed, thin shoulders.

Republicans must beat the drum on when the economy started to tank: As soon as the Dems took control of the Senate and House in 1997, during the mid-term election of Bush's last 2 years.Instead they remain silent when the libs pull out that old canard about "Bush's failed economy," and simply state that Obama made it worse. They just didn't make it worse . . . They MADE IT!

One has to wonder if any of the T-Heads on Fox ever watch themselves regurgitating the same talking points over and over and over and over.....ad infinitum. Some viewers must have complained that Juan doesn't look Hispanic enough to present a fair and balanced minority perspective. Oh, I forgot. He's supposed to present the fair and balanced perspective of black racists. But what, pray tell, is the incentive for Fox to hire the liberal lesbian from L'Amazonia, Sally Kohn? She and Rachel Maddow would be interchangeable if RM ate a truckload of Haagen Daz while applying a little Just For Men hair coloring. Obviously, neither Fox nor MSNBC makeup has a comb. Apparently, Fox doesn't see the need since they have both Colmes and Kohn galore.I suggest that Fox ratings would skyrocket like an Obama power bill after a command performance by electric racist, Common, if they would let the words (I was gonna say thoughts, duh) of all commentators and politically correct guests stream directly out of the mouth of Megan Kelly. Shannon Bream can sub when Megan is in labor.PhotoShop introduces the miracle of modern television: One Talking Head......saying the same thing over and over and over.

"by constantly depending on the largesse of Obama and the American taxpayer to survive."The key word here is "survive". One takes note that "Julia" never tries to improve upon her situation and get out of poverty. Such are the golden chains of Socialism. You have the least of everything you need to survive with little or no hope of ever breaking those bonds that tie you to your "benefactors"

Burt - I rarely watch Fox News anymore as the last time I watched it they had Alan Colmes (the mentally challenged liberal) spewing the praises of B.O. Plenty over some screw up Obama made. Figure that one out, he looked like he wanted some vaseline just to grease up his lips prior to kissing Obutthead's ass.As for Eric Holdem's view on Justice - the Border Patrol Agent was white, Roger Clemens is white - so Holder had a chance to strike a blow at whitey. Holder is a racist Son of a B*tch who deserves to be prosecuted, found guilty, and sent up the river for corruption and impeding investigations. Look how he looked the other way on the Black Panther voter intimidation issue in Philly. Or how he was beating his "prosecution drum" over the Trayvon "Gangsta" Martin issue. This is part of why Obuttsniff must go! Holder is Obuttsuck's bosom buddy.

By this time in the Reagan administration the economy was really turning around and the misery index all but forgotten. Leading to a Reagan landslide over Mondull. Obama would be smart to look back upon what Reagan did and copy some of his policies. But he doesn't have the humility to try, nor the intellect to understand what worked. Unless Mitt implodes, he should roll over Obama. With one caveat, never in American history has so few paid taxes and so many government dependents.

When it comes to Roger Clemens isn't it a a little hypocritical as he supposedly lied before a bunch of liars (oops politicians). Son of Liberty - Isn't voter intimidation a much much more serious item by several orders of magnitude over lying to liars? And having a federal agency, FDA, not authorized by the Constitution also a more serious issue? As for Fox News it is the best of the worse. I can't watch it as we don't have satellite and there is no cable. I don't think I am missing anything.Burt - Don't expect the leaders of the God Owful Party to bring up the misery index, unless they grow a pair.

Gifts to the American people by the socialist:Drones over AmericaRight to kill American citizensZero privacy - full- blown snoopingA new center being built to house the equipment and a database for snooping on all American communication, private or otherwiseA Homeland Security database housing files on white Christian Americans thought of as potential terroristsPolicies that allow the minorities in the U.S. to grow to 37% of the population, insuring socialism will be the prevalent political philosophy foreverDirect attacks on the U.S Constitution in an attempt to put the U.S. under international lawDisregarding our friends and allies and making friends with enemies like Hugo Chavez and middle east tyrantsWell, the good readers here can expand on this list, but these things I've listed have been or are being implemented as we talk. And guess what? Forty-nine percent of Americans think Obama's just great, lead by women (white and other races), blacks, Hispanics, and Asians. Then, there's the waffling independents, the dead, the cartoon characters, and the like. And now, the latest poll by Fox News indicates that Obama is leading Romney in the latest polls by several percentage points. And, I predict Obama will win with the votes of the underbelly of America, which is rapidly becoming the majority.Mac, Burt, go buy some envelopes to send my money in...

I am a woman, and all I want is Obama and all his cohorts out, in jail, and not getting money or benefits from the American taxpayer. I have no idea why ANYONE (except those who benefit from his spreading the wealth to his cronies) would want Obama. I frankly don't know why this traitor hasn't been impeached for the treasons he has committed and continues to commit. I fear the theft of the election and the destruction of our beloved country.

Tex: Mac and I appreciate that you have not forgotten our bet. As for the polls, the only reason to pay attention to them this early in the year is so that you can draw comfort from the fact that Obama isn't at or above 50% in any of them. That is a DOA notice for any incumbent, especially when the challenger hasn't yet been crowned at his party's convention.Mac: The problem is that in stopping bills from being voted on, Harry Reid is doing his job. As majority leader, his primary function is seeing to it that his colleagues aren't forced to show their true colors, lest they lose their upcoming elections and the Democrats lose control of the chamber.Burt

@JJStryder - A point of clarification is in order. Obama is a Marxist, Reagan wasn't. Therefore Obama would never take any of Reagan's ideas and implement them, he wouldn't be able to control industry like he wants to.@ Howard Last - Of course voter intimidation was much more serious than Clemens lying to the Liars Club. The point is that the Black Panthers were "Brothers", not white MoFo's, ergo they didn't need an investigation stirring up any hint of wrongdoing on the Ob*tchboy's campaign in 08. It's called how to racially divide the country. Part of the Obuttbag's plan to "fundamentally change" America. Are we singing from the same sheet of music yet?

Hi Burt & fellow patriots;Great writ, wit & comments as always.Re: Julia; yes, she'd be surviving on gov-dole. I will never forget the daily gnawing sensation in my gut the first 15 years of my life in the 'Red paradise.' It's called starvation.Re: FoxNews, I watch it a bit, I like Hannity. However, I switch channels when Juan, Colmes & other rabid apologists for the Fraud-in-Chief start spewing spit & spin. Burt, as you know, I am a self-study pupil of the late W.F. Buckley Jr. Being of a mischievous mind, just as you are, I looked up synonyms for 'truss.'Lo & behold, I've discovered new meanings:Truss: Verb: 1. Tie up the wings and legs of (a chicken or other bird) before cooking. Medicine: 2. A supportive device, usually a pad with a belt, worn to prevent enlargement of a hernia or the return of a reduced hernia.Let's apply #1. to all of these minions including dear leader 'O.' All the fawning apologists should wear #2. Come to think of it, it won't help; they're all yellow wimps & weasels.

Burt, I have come to the conclusion that Clemens is a Republican. I can find no other reason why using a performance enhancing substance and lying to congress is a worse offense than abusing and molesting women and then lying to congress about it. Of course Clemens may not have known what the meaning of is, is.Richard RyanLamar,Missouri

Burt,Instead of simply using glue to stick the feathers on the Occupy simpletons why don't we use that age-old cure for scum like them: Tar and feather 'Em! I's not like it will ruin their hairdos or their 'clothes'.Let's try it on the (D)dum-dums in Congress first to see if it really works. They can be the canary in the coal mine!

Burt, I'll conced the point that this may be too early for the polls to indicate anything serious about Obama and Romney's chances at winning the presidency. But what say ye about the type of John McCain campaign being run by the dunce Reince Preibus and the RNC? Surely you can see that it's a weak and flawed effort thus far...? I believe America wants a rock star (after all, American Idol is more popular than government to most) and Romney is well, a sissy. Perhaps a well-meaning sissy but a sissy nonetheless. And within the last month, because of Obama's appeal to women, and his "gayness", his popularity has gone from some 44% to 49%. Even the stinking economy doesn't seem to matter to the 49%. And Romney's putting all his eggs in that basket. To those other than Republicans, where's Romney's appeal? The 59 points that no one remembers, or appears to care about?
