Thank you, Ms. Noonan. Well-written as always, and compelling in the urgency of the message. I spent 6 years in special operations and 30 more in the intelligence community. The sort of braggadocio being engaged in by members of this administration -- and the apathy or flippancy with which many readers and commenters seem to treat the fact that lives are being ruined and lost -- is appalling.
Can there really be American citizens who believe that winning an election is worth so much that the life of Shakil Afridi, a doctor sympathetic to America, or any other source or method of collection, is expendable? We must do everything we can to pressure the Pakistanis to release this "American" patriot to our care, as well as all the others still alive (but for how long?) that these boastful, elitist, stupid sycophants have now endangered. We must do so, and criminally prosecute these leakers for treason, not merely because they are preventing our nation from being able to recruit others who might have otherwise become valuable sources of information and assistance, but because it is the right, the American, thing to do.
