The Patriot Post's mission is to advocate for Essential Liberty, the restoration of constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and to promote free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values. Our objective is to provide Patriots across our nation with a touchstone of First Principles through brief, informative and entertaining analyses of relevant news, policy and opinion from reputable research, advocacy and media organizations, so they may better support and defend those Principles, and enlist others to join our ranks." —Mark Alexander, Publisher

My exact thoughts as posted on FB 7/11/12: I would also add, that IMHO, many members of both houses of Congress were probably hoping the SCOTUS would strike it down, thereby not having the responsibility of doing it themselves. Such a ruling would have covered their sorry butts, allowing them to state for the record that they either agreed or disagreed with the ruling. Now, they had to "man up" and take the responsibility. Apparently those in the House realized that their political future depended on how they voted.
I attribute their thinking to the old rule " Let George do it!". However this time George chose not to do anything, thereby throwing the ball back in their court. So, either Justice Roberts was having a momentary lapse of reason, or he is a cunning genius. Either way, the Congress now has to go on record as to who votes yay or nay. People will be watching..... 21 hours ago
