The official Soviet propaganda maintained for 50 years that there had been no famine in the Ukraine under Stalin. Does that prove Dave's point?

Whether or not you believe in a "Jewish-Controlled Media", we still (so far) have the freedom of speech in this country. That means that we--unlike folks who live under the Iranian regime----are free to call out lies when we see them. When our media (Jewish-controlled, or not) puts out a false story, or a story line with an agenda behind it (it happens sometimes!), free people--competing journalists, bloggers, commenters like you and me---will hold it up to scrutiny and decide for themselves what the truth is.

(The fact that we are having this conversation proves my point.)

When people have freedom of speech and wide access to information, they will keep the media --and by extension, the government-- as honest as is humanly possible. The Iranian people enjoy neither freedom of speech nor wide access to information; and the Iranian media is one and the same with the Iranian government.

So, no, I don't believe that Ahmadinejad doesn't want to harm Jews, just because the state-run media says he doesn't.
