Very nice article. This episode furtehr illustrates the intolerance of the left and the tyrrany of the leftists in control of much of our governmnet. We have had cultural diversity shoved down our throats without regard to whether or not the culture or lifestyle are destructive to American society. We should all be tolerant of others in so far as they conduct themselves with tolerance as well. In this case, Mr Ctahy simply responded to a question posed by a journalist from a religious media outlet. He did not propose a crusade against the gay and ecstatic, he simply said his organization and his family are centered on Biblical principles.
The gay left was looking for a fight! They though that this would be an easy target to beat down. Wrong... This is just a small hint at the outrage of mainstaream America toward the bully progressives and the democrat socialists. On Nov 6th you will see America rise up and throw out the infidel and his minions.

This is what you get when a Marxist takes over. Despotism soon follows. We have been eating at Chick-fil-A since long before this uproar, and we will be eating there long after it has gone away. Unfortunately the intolerance of the socialists, communists, queers, and other assorted despots will not soon go away. A vote for any Democrat in November is an act of treason.

And Menino is friendly with an Imam who, on Al-Jazeera answered the question what is to be done about homosexuals this way:
"Some believe they should be thrown from a tall building. Others believe they should be burnt. So there's a lot of controversy."
Any guesses where Menino will be celebrating the next Ramadan dinner?

Politicians. Any chance to schmooze some votes. During the same week that Rahmbo piled onto Cathy for espousing normal marriage, he welcomed Farrakan- who is anti-homosexual- with simpering affection. What hypocracy.

1.Intolerance of intolerance, 2. tolerance for intolerance and 3. intolerance of tolerance.
The first is what many are expressing when they criticize Don Cathy's very public pronouncement. The second occurs when as the saying goes "When they came for the Jews i said nothing" The third is from the self appointed gate keepers who wave the flag while clutching their bibles. They don't care if a minority is discriminated against, they just feel so good when they bully and hate.

No one is discriminating against gays, least of all Mr. Cathy, merely by expressing his free opinion regarding traditional marriage.
The proof that gays could always marry is that many gay people did marry, both straight and gay women. The discrimination is therefore not against gayness but object choice, defined by the law as one man and one woman.
This is because the marriage is more than the joining of two people. It is the joining of two sexes. It forms the atomic structure of the human race, the male and female being its sub-atomic particles. Wholeness is the aim of marriage, not consolation, comfort, companionship or otherwise.
Out of the body of humanity joined the whole race can be repopulated if necessary.
The destruction of this powerful symbol is the unfortunate side-effect of same-sex marriage.
I approve entirely of civil unions equal to marriage in force. My own uncle was treated abysmally while trying to visit his sick boyfriend whose medical bills he paid for entirely.
Mac may be crude but he's not wrong. Once the sacred symbols of a culture are gone, the society slides into the garbage heap. "Freedom as long as it doesn't hurt anyone else" won't do. As Humpty-Dumpty said to Alice, "Who is to be Master: that is all."
Civil war is what you're unwittingly advocating. It isn't about content. It's about structure.

Mac, You're welcome to your opinions, perhaps expressing them in the most obnoxious way possible gives you a certain satisfaction. If so, that's your reward.
But your opinions are as obsolete as those supporting a flat earth, that women are property and should not vote, slavery is just and so on. The younger generations are well beyond such small minded thinking.
The issue of gay marriage is headed for a Supreme Court decision. I hope to read your reaction when John Roberts explains the majority opinion that same sex marriage is a constitutionally protected right. I'm guessing you'll be spouting and sputtering like an overheated kettle.

Greg, What is the purpose of "gay" marriage anyway? It's certainly not procreation. I'm just confused about the uproar form homosexuals.

Such a case will not receive certification to be heard. It is not a federal government issue.

We've come to expect progressives to change the subject when confronted with a truth for which they have no answer; and to fail to understand the topic about which they speak or write. Mr. Spearling's notes are good examples.

Mr Spearing is a sodomite who will burn in hell for aberant and perverted behavior. He is not a cogent individual, as his postings prove. He no doubt is miserable in his flawed existence, and maybe he should just take a big leap off of a tall bridge, to quicken his descent into hell. He probably has no idea of laws derived not from man but from God, and shows his ignorance with postings on this site. Sodomites are such incomprehing idiots for the marxist tyranny they would impose on all. He can justify his abberant behavior any way he wishes, and yet normal folk will continue to villify the damned.

I still have yet to see ANYONE point their finger at that part of the Constitution that says "marriage" is a "RIGHT". Good grief, where are all these "made up" rights coming from?
I'm tired, TIRED I tell ya, of everything being made into a "right". We have the "right" to free speech, the "right" to freedom of assembly, the "right" to petition, the "right" to bear arms, the "right" to a speedy trial, and so on and so forth. NOWHERE did I come across the word "marriage". Am I wrong? Am I missing something? Do I not know how to read our own Constitution? What the heck?

Mr. Spearing is looking in a mirror when he talks about intolerance. Don Cathy and Chick-A-Fil isn't in the business of marrying people, he serves food to the public without discrimination. Labeling his view of traditional marriage as being "intolerant' and "out of step" and trying to ban his business shows us who the current generation of "liberal fascists" are.

Persecuting people for their speech is illiberal.
This is the main point that must be ground. Those on the razor's edge must decide for liberal democratic institutions or for socialism. (I mean liberalism in the classic sense, as the Founders meant it, of course)
So-called liberals have to have their heads scrambled a bit so they can be brought in the right direction (literally and figuratively) and vote out State Capitalism (Socialism, then Communism) in favor of Free Markets.
A continuing delusion (purposefully fomented by Marxists) is that Capitalism will end with Communism. Nothing is farther from the truth. Capital will be controlled by the State (in the name of a completely powerless people - a mere abstraction).
The problem comes from a misunderstanding of what capital is. Everything that needs to be brought to together to create a product or service of value is capital. Markets are also capital since it provides the return to manufacturers of the credit needed to repeat the cycle. Leftists need to be taught this if we are to succeed in preserving liberty.
Letting the market decide how capital is organized is a proven winner. Why try to make a perfect world? The result of all such event is dystopia, not utopia.
