Burt, as far as I am concerned the Olympics rates right up there with soccer. Lets see how should I arrange my sock draw. The only Olympic event that I would watch, the Nazi Broadcasting Company does not show, that would be the shooting sports. We must be PC. There is something the PC crowd should know, men and women compete as equal and women often beat the men. I know as my daughter at 14 beat me routinely in high power rifle. And it is not just me, at 17 she competed at Camp Perry (at the National Matches) and beat some Navy Seals and Army Rangers (notice I brag). If this becomes common knowledge the PC crowd will be calling for replacing football and baseball with shotgun and rifle competition.

Besides being uneconomical wind mills are ugly. I know as they spoil my view of the Laramie Mountains and the Front Range. And where is the PC crowd as windmills chop up birds? Something the PC idiots may not know, here in Wyoming, windmills are shut down because of too much wind. Ever see what happens to a tower if a blade comes lose? BTW, how do you produce the electricity when the windmills are shut down, why with coal plants, who would have thunk it?

Howard: A man after my own heart. I, too, hate the Olympics. I have to run, but my reasons are numerous. Good for your daughter. You have reason to brag.

The only way to make Henry Wolf's erection go flacid, was for him to stare at the economic jobs report, while listening to Pelosi's voice and "reasoning." Snake oil is available for the naive, gullible, and ignorant, who can watch any leftist, without vomitting!! Common sense isn't all that common these days, Burt!!

"But most Americans prefer sports that don't require using one's own head as a bat."

Did not George Will recently write a rather disparaging essay on the evils of NFL football injuries? I now put forth that soccer be fully investigated for allowing one to hit a ball with one's head. I demand that safety regulations be put into place to protect the aforementioned head(s). No more hitting with the head(s)! At the very least the ball should now be made of the same materials as that of a Nerf Ball!

Oh the horror of the injuries that surely must have occurred during this rough and physical sport of third world and European nations.

I think you're on to something, Herr Doktor. Would anyone doubt that VERY few of those Americans who like soccer have NOT played soccer themselves? Maybe there's a minimum level of brain damage necessary before one can actually be enthusiastic about the game...

Burt, when Liberals speak - Buffoons listen. I however, must go to another channel or leave the room as my blood pressure starts to rise and I have the strong urge to choke something. I have also found that the mute button comes in handy, but then I can't have too much fun as my wife won't always let me insert my own dialogue in the commercial or whatever the D-Rats are talking about. D-RATS is my new name for the Democrats, because they DO act like a bunch of Rat Ba*tards, and Giblets is the new name for the Gay, Bi, Lesbo, Transgender weenies. Nice thing is that they all mesh together very well. So can we lump them under the genus Ass -clowns? Your call!

I have to forward this article to my friends, priceless, the conjugation and linking of BMW, Viagra, and Cinton. Then came soccer, an obvious alternative to watching paint dry. Then candlelight vigils, I'm having a hard time typing; still laughing, Burt, you are a gem and we love your missives three times a week. I wish you could opine daily. Have you thought of a daily tear off callendar of zingers, that might prove lucrative.

Burt, I would hope in this age of cd's and flash drives you could create or save at least one job more than Obama. "The Far Side" did very well after whatsiswhozit retired.

Not going back to your MAS*H days, unless you have the rights, but I'm sure you have a great archive. GET ON IT, old man!!! My children and this Nation need your insights.

Oooh! Gary Larsen. Seriously. Hire the stock boy/girl from your grocer's, et al, who gives you good service. Parttime, good pay. john

Also, with Gov. Walker's win, public union employee dues is no longer confiscated by the state and transferred to the union coffers. Believe there was a dramatic drop in membership once the employee had to write the check himself and see just how much it cost. He/she could assess whether the cost was worth the benefit of union membership. That should be the case with every union. Just as with taxes, if it's taken before you get your check you don't see it, don't miss it, don't realize just how much it costs you.

Burt, in addition to spellchecker, could you work on eliminating campaign spokespeople like the Eric guy and the gal who went on Fox and said if the Soptic woman had lived in Massachusetts she'd have had health insurance - Romneycare - when she was diagnosed with cancer. (Opac's latest "Romney killed my wife and doesn't care" ad) It was a jaw-dropping response.

Burt Prelutsky in North Hills, CA
Thursday, August 9, 2012 at 4:17 PM

BN: As you have probably heard, Mrs. Soptic had health insurance for years after her husband lost his job. Also, by the time his steel factory went out of business, Mitt Romney was long gone from Bain. Therefore what I found so shocking wasn't that the Democrats would stoop to laying the woman's death at Romney's feet--by now we all know there is no level to which Obama and his stooges won't sink--but that the ad was so easily refuted by the facts.

Burt.

Burt, one of your best posts yet. So many great right on zingers I blew my cup of tea right out my nose. Howard Last, keep on bragging about your daughter, you deserve to. Mine turned 18 last week and asked for a shotgun with a pink camo stock. She got one, with a case of ammo.

Burt we resided in the Peoples Republik of NYS when my daughter started shooting and until she was in her 4th year of college. She also started a rifle team (.22) in her High School, Great Neck South. It made the Long Island Section of the New York Slimes (oops Times) on Nov. 28 1999. The Title was, "Chess Sure, But Rifles? in Great Neck?" Someone should have told the editor, that the ultimate game of military strategy is CHESS.

Speaking of right thinking young women, here in the otherwise pinkish state of CT, my daughter was a founding member of the first chapter of the Second Amendment Sisters on her college campus of Mount Holyoke College. Doesn't get much more pinky and progressive than that school (unless you consider Smith College up the road, where (pardon the expression) the same sex slit lickers are in control. She is now a young mom and living a few states away with her anti-union Firefighter husband. Man I am proud of that girl. A constitutional conservative chip off the ole block!! RJA

Burt, all I can say is, "you are the man!"

Notice I didn't say,"you duh man!," because I don't know what the farg that means.

Please note that in my personal efforts at trying not to speak in such a profane manner, I have chosen to use the term "farg" to refer to the word "f?ck," so that I do not injure small folks' ears (this applies to Democrats as well). This term is a bastardization of the proper name Fargo, a city in Massachusetts or the Dakotas or somewhere . . . I just know it was a pluralizes state of our union. So sue me. It also had something to do with the movie named "Fargo" as well as the short little shit depicted in the now defunct TV show named "Eureka".

And shit is not a bad word!!

Keep 'splainin' like you do, Burt! You are the man!

Speaking of steel companies going out of business, the AFL-CIO negotiated such outrageous pay and benefits for their union members that they killed the goose that laid the golden egg. I grew up in Fontana, CA, a steel town with a steel mill owned by Henry Kaiser and worked in the steel mill for a brief period of time before moving on to bigger and better things. Once Kaiser was asked how many of the 9500 people worked in his steel mill? Kaiser replied, "Oh, about half of them". I believe the straw that broke the camel's back was when the union negotiated 13 weeks paid vacation every 7 years for their members. Not too many years following this, the mill was was closed, sold to a Japanese company who turned it into a rolling mill and hired 2300 employees to run it. Over the years I have had an opportunity to talk with people who were employed with the new company and they were much happier with their employment with a non-union company who based their salaries on production incentives. Therefore, I know that no one can ever convince me that the service unions provide is best for their members. Besides, In addition to the National Labor Relations Board, we have enough governmental laws in place to protect the workforce.
