Tex Horn in Texas

@ Mac and Burt: It's me, Mac, Gloomy Gus, aka Tex Horn. I did not realize you were serious in upping our wager. If the offer is still open, I'll take it, even though I hope I lose. The selection of Ryan for VP is encouraging, but the liberal media is already obeying Obama's command to get all the dirt on him they can. I doubt they will find much.

At the risk if being redundant, here's the post that Mac responded to on another writer's forum. Since Mac has responded, perhaps Burt would also like to add a gloomy title to my good Texas name. I still believe the following to be true, although perhaps too late in this election game, but perhaps not in 2016:

You have probably seen the latest Fox News poll: Romney is trailing by 9%. Why, you may ask? Because Romney is running on "the economy, stupid." This race isn't about the economy, it's about ideology. Were it about the economy, Romney would be running away with it. He's not. He's sinking like a rock. Look at Obama out on the campaign trail. He's got fire in his belly, and he's not talking economy (for obvious reasons), he's talking ideology. And he's winning.

Some have said that Obama wants the U.S. to be like Europe. We already are, my friends. Like most European nations, it's come down to Conservatives v. Liberals (i.e., socialists). That's what we have here in the U.S. now. So, it is about ideology. Yet, Romney still has no fire in his belly for his self-described conservative principles. Obama's ideologically-based attack ads are working and Romney's response is like some nerd being picked on by a bully: "That's not nice!" So, he's losing. Blame the Republican establishment. They have failed to see that this race is about ideology and have not picked a candidate that will fight that fight, fire against fire. It appears that America as we have known it is gone forever. We are now a socialist state. We can have hope, but hope will not win this election. Picking the right candidate who will faithfully fight for the Conservative ideology might.

Let me hear it, Burt!
