Linda - you're conveniently not citing the chief objection: This policy effectively gives these illegals priority status over those who've obeyed our laws and are trying to apply honestly.
Some of these applicants have been waiting for years. Many also have families here. Many have desirable skills & credentials. And--if nothing else--all are at least demonstrating some character and respect for the US by trying to immigrate in accordance with our laws.
If we're going to wring our hands over the plight of those who want to join the US--why not do so over the ones doing it right?
