The Right Opinion
The Golden Ticket
Obama and his stooges will have to excuse me if I'm somewhat skeptical when they claim to be delighted that the GOP is running Romney and Ryan against them. I mean, I have tried to see things from their viewpoint, but I just can't imagine why a radical leftist who has run this nation's economy into the ground and his clownish sidekick would want to run against two guys who are smart, well-spoken and extremely personable.
I mean, at least when the various palookas said they were looking forward to facing Joe Louis, Rocky Marciano and even Apollo Creed, in the boxing ring, guys like Tony Galento, Bernie Reynolds and Rocky Balboa, knew they were in store for a big payday. But faced with having to debate these two attractive, articulate Republicans, and without a Teleprompter feeding them their lines, Obama and Biden better hope their opponents will agree to take a dive.
I know that some conservatives are upset that Romney isn't cool or charismatic, two words that Democrats always attach to Obama. As for me, it's enough that I'm so cool, I could actually double as a refrigerator, and so charismatic, it's almost scary. But I wouldn't want to see me in the role of commander in chief and leader of the free world. For that job, I prefer someone who is honest, decent and competent.
One of the things I happen to like best about Paul Ryan is his ability to translate economics into perfectly understandable English. Although you would think that every single American would understand what four years of 8% unemployment, 8% underemployment and a $16 trillion dollar national debt, mean to our nation's future and the future of the world. A world, by the way, that is faced with the threat of a nuclear Iran; a China lusting for more turf; and a Russia controlled by the former head of the KGB.
And then there's the matter of Islamic ambitions. Let us never forget that Barack Hussein Obama once declared that if push ever comes to shove, he would side with the religion of his loony, racist, drunken, father. And why would we doubt him when everything he has said and done, even prior to taking up residence in the White House, has shown where his loyalties lie?
For more on this subject, I urge every voter, whatever his political affiliation, to see "2016" before Election Day.
What I don't get is how oblivious so many Americans are to the economic precipice this nation is fast-approaching. You don't have to be Milton Friedman or have a Ph.D in economics to understand that you can't indefinitely deal with the problem by borrowing from China and printing worthless paper money. When towns and cities all over America are facing bankruptcy because their politicians gave public sector unions a blank check when times were flush, knowing they'd get votes and campaign contributions when election time rolled around, you would think everyone would be aware of the devastation our nation is facing.
Of course it's only anecdotal, but Bret Baier, in his report about the dire circumstances facing American municipalities, mentioned that in San Jose, CA, prior to the city declaring bankruptcy, firemen were averaging $130,000-a-year while cops were pulling down $90,000, and after 20 years of service, they could look forward to equally generous pensions.
In San Bernardino, one police sergeant pocketed $317,000. No doubt he put in a lot of overtime, leading me to wonder if the man ever slept. But $317,000 in a city where the average taxpayer makes less than $40,000-a-year seems a tad outrageous. For that kind of dough, if I were a resident, I'd expect the cop to spend his weekends painting my house and repairing my plumbing.
What makes this all the more farcical is that these towns are in California, where the Democrats in Sacramento have spent decades squandering money we don't have, while pretty much inviting companies to leave for business-friendlier locales like Arizona and Texas. As a result, we have what are probably the highest state and sales taxes in the land, and while the rest of the nation has apoplexy when gasoline prices hit $3.60 or $3.70-a-gallon, ours regularly soar well over $4.00. Liberals of course blame the oil companies for hiking prices at the pump, but the truth is that Jerry Brown and his cronies are gouging us to a degree that the folks at Mobil and Arco can only dream about.
Finally, one reader recently sent me an email, reminding me that, in declaring my skepticism where pacifism is concerned, I once wrote: "Gandhi was just lucky that his enemy happened to be England and not the Soviet Union or Nazi Germany."
In response, I added, "The tragedy in the Middle East is that Israel hasn't been nearly as fortunate in its enemies as India was."

The British Mandate (1922-1948) was a document that gave Jewish people a home in Palestine. Jerusalem was a divided city, with 3 different religions, claiming the City of Hashem, as its own. Theodore Hertzel, earlier in time, is often known to be the "first" Zionist. The arab Palestinians had a problem with the Zionists. There was also UN RES 181, which failed! The Royal Crown, saw zero progress, in the sand box mess, so gathered the soldiers of the Queen, and sailed home. God Bless Israel, and may Romney's SEC OF STATE, be more effective than Clinton.

I'm looking forward to the debates almost like a kid waiting on Christmas, but I'm also wondering if Obama will find a way to cancel them. He has to know he's out-gunned verbally, and poor old Joe - I almost feel sorry for him. Almost. Obama must be dreading this worse than a root canal and is probably trying desperately to think of a way to call them off. Can he? We'll see...because as we all know, he's proven to be capable of other things we didn't think were possible.

I don't feel sorry for Biden. The only reason Obutthead even gave Biden the Vice-Presidency was so that Jo-Jo the Clown would make the Obamessiah look brilliant in mental acuity. The things that turd says makes yu wonder how he ever got to be a Senator. Oh that's right, he lied his way into it just like most of the D-RATs do. I just want to see both of those anal orifices defeated in November and sent packing. The odd thing is that the liberals will not only claim that Obama wins the debates, they'll go so far as to claim that Biden wins his with Ryan.

Burt: Although Obummer's narcissism is overt, such people have a vague inner feeling of inferiority, which is why the Obamanation will want to cancel the debates if he can find a way that won't make him look like the craven scumbag he is. With the Dumbocruds appearance is all important. He will concoct something, like an acute case of laryngitis or, worse yet, incite riots to make the selected debate town appear too dangerous for the yellow creep. A huge number of his brain-dead lemming followers would be eager for such action. An even worse scenario would be his declaration of martial law and cancellation of the election because of riots or jihadi sabotage secretly planned by himself and his cronies.

Burt, I understand what the movie 2016 is all about, I will not see it because the word Obama gets me physically ill. If I see the movie I will puke in the first minute.
When it comes to the price of gas and the profit the oil companies make how come the federal, state and local taxes are almost never mentioned? Percentage wise the taxes far exceed the oil company profit. I seem to remember years ago seeing signs on the gas pumps which gave the breakdown of the cost of the gas and the various taxes. Why aren't the gas companies putting these signs back? Going back at least 20 years ago the NYS legislature passed a bill for a tax on utilities. The law also included a clause preventing the utilities from giving a breakdown of items in the utility bill, specifically the tax. The utilities took the state to court on First Amendment grounds. The state lost and the breakdown was included on bills. Politicians are sneaky bastards.

Howard: I don't know why I seem to be the only person discussing the enormous taxes on gasoline, but, then, I also don't know why people don't raise a stink about the cost of so-called higher education. If it weren't for professors and administrators pulling down six-figure salaries and fortunes being spent on gardeners, college should cost about as much as high school. After all, books and computers aren't all that expensive.

Burt, what I can't understand is why new college text books come out every few years. Calculus hasn't changed since the days of Issac Newton. As for first year college physics has no changes since Issac Newton also. Advanced physics courses have not changed since Einstein (Relativity). The more advanced physics courses have minor updates because of Quantum Mechanics. Other than to line the pockets of college professors new books every few years make no sense. Oh, I forgot most college professors aren't qualified to work in the real world.

Every "few" years? It´s every year! The publishing houses simply do not print the same book two consecutive years. They force the universities to buy their new line and the universities force the students into the same scam. With the exception of Liberal Arts (that need to mend their texts to say that being half-black is Black), the sciences do not change from year-to-year.

I plan to see 2016 this weekend. You make a very important point about BO's African father -- the one he decided to cling to in memory and devotion via his books, as if he had been a noble character, and not a loony, racist, polygamous, narcissistic, drunken failure. What BO Sr. did manage to do was acquire for himself an elite American education, which he never paid back to the taxpayers -- he instead, bequeathed us the fix we're now in. Can we put a stop to all foreign aid programs?
The 1960s-1970s when Barry was born and only a mere child by end of '60s, was the golden age of nutty black dictators in Africa, with the continent's countries in turmoil constantly. BO Sr. was from that ilk of black Marxists and anti-colonialists. Sadly, he also had other major character flaws.
I remember Patrice Lumumba, Emperor Haile Selassie of the big hat and small stature and numerous royal titles (The Lion of Judah, etc.) who always could be counted on to make my mother laugh as he made his grand entrance to the U.N. General Assembly each October. There also was Idi Amin and so many more who loved lavish lifestyles and kept their people in poverty and stripped of rights. BO Jr.'s father was politically like-minded as those African despots of the '60s and '70s, except he never made it to the top in Kenya. This is the kind of man BO Jr. holds dear in memory, and our press corps just accepts it as if BO had a noble African father, like Nelson Mandela or Desmond Tutu.
I predict that if given a second term, BO Jr. will set about remaking himself as a reborn African Marxist dictator, might even declare himself Emperor (giving himself new titles, names), start wearing crowns and fur-trimmed capes -- or opt for a huge military hat, sport a chest full of phony medals on his made-in-Hollywood uniform, and start calling Moochelle his African queen.

I once asked her what her thoughts were, given the overall good and bad experiences of having been a British Colony up until the middle of the last century. She remarked that on the whole, her country came out much better off than many other nations who had no history of being under British rule. She was old enough to remember how the country flirted with socialism for a short period, but finally began to embrace the free markets and has generally raised the standard of living for a majority of its people. The same cannot be said of many other nations whose own experiences were not similar to her own.

Burt, Wyoming is probably still the most Conservative of the 57 states (what there are only 50). The major problem is allowing people to change their registration, vote in the primary and then change their registration back before leaving the building. My wife and I are election judges and see this happening extensively. It is always Democraps or independents that change. We have yet to see a Republican do it. This is how Mead won the primary in 2010. Unfortunately the RINO's realize this is how they got in office and of course will not change the law. We had the primary Tues. and some RINO's did win. I still do not understand how the state can tell a private club how to conduct their elections. Political parties are basically private clubs. This would be an interesting First Amendment case.

Why? Ask yourselves--why would this be? Because he was PAID by them to answer a planted question the way he did. If he really was a solid Republican and/or Conservative, and/or Tea Partier, he would have dropped out of the race. He's staying in because....he was PAID by the Dems. Typical Chicago-style thuggery with U.S. elections from coast to coast, backed by the evil Soros-funded PACS. There is simply no other answer to the why. I've become that cynical considering who's in the White House right now and how he got there himself. As we here all appreciate, a lot is at stake with Congressional/Senate elections around the country this fall and the Demonic Dems always go for the kill.
