News Media Need to Own Their Biases

I talk to people almost every day who truly believe that what they see on the mainstream news reflects the important isues of the day. A woman that I know says that she wouldn't waste her time watching MSNBC, yet she then stated that she gets her news from Time magazine. When I pointed out that the MSNBC coverage after the RNC convention included Chris Mathews, Rachel Maddow and a Time magazine correspondent, she simply said, "It's all good". To me, that reveals her leftist, union robot outlook on the truth. The news media in this country are not only biased, they are culpable for the bad decisions that the ignorant make at the ballot box. Ther are literally millions of people in America that are too wrapped up in their own lives to understand that when they come home from work and turn on the network news, they're getting mostly lies and misrepresentations of the facts. Anyone who doesn't believe this fact can very easily prove it with some time spent on research, which is much more easily accomplished today with the help of online sources.

Unfortunately, the only solution to the working folks' blindness is for them to wake the hell up and to take a good look around. I doubt if many of them are willing to pay attention, or really even care. I guess the election will tell, won't it?

I have a neighbor who gets his information from the likes of ABC,NBC,CBS, and CNN. When I told him Obama was a communist and that our congress is riddled with communists,he got mad. Said he had fought in Korea, and didn`t like what I was saying. I really don`t know what his having fought in Korea had to do with it. Fortunately, he is not registered and hasn`t voted in years. One less brain dead liberal to worry about.
