The Right Opinion
Liberals Should Come With Warning Labels
One of my many beefs with left-wingers is that they rarely say what they mean or mean what they say. For instance, liberals constantly carry on as if homosexuals in 2010 are an oppressed minority whose status is comparable to that of black slaves 150 years ago. They even pretend that their opposition to the Boy Scouts and the U.S. military has something to do with their respective policies towards gays. However, let a Republican politician grope a male colleague or play footsies in an airport men’s room and these same tolerant, broad-minded, individuals start brandishing a lynch rope.
Speaking of alternate life styles, as liberals describe homosexual behavior when referring to sexual deviance involving their political allies, I think the curriculum in sex education classes should be expanded. In addition to teaching the young sprouts how to make certain that bananas never engage in unprotected sexual activity, I think they should show films of young criminals being initiated into prison life. It just might help to discourage a few teenage hot shots from driving cars and spray-painting walls that don’t belong to them.
Sometimes, I take a look at what’s going on in Washington and, like any other sensible person, I just want to sit down and cry. But then I take another look and I can’t help laughing. I mean, has it ever occurred to you that the House and the Senate each has members in what are amusingly referred to as ethics committees. Can you imagine sitting on one of those committees and each and every day when you go home, you have to listen to your spouse ask the same question: “Well, honey, what didn’t you do today?”
Expecting those creeps to police themselves is a lot like asking the fox to place himself under arrest for raiding the chicken coop.
If I weren’t such a cold-hearted brute, I might actually start feeling sorry for Barack Obama. The poor guy was so darn certain that Iran would love him every bit as much as those infatuated bobby-soxers over at MSNBC, but no matter how often he batted his eyes and dropped his hanky, Mahmud Ahmadinejad remained impervious to his charms. One can only guess how often he cried himself to sleep, wondering why it couldn’t be Chris Matthews or Keith Olbermann who was ruling Iran.
Finally, though, Obama dried his tears and asked himself, “What would Neville Chamberlain do?” And, sure enough, the answer came to him in a flash: If Iran won’t stop their nuclear bomb program, he decided, we’ll stop ours! I can see him turning to Michelle and saying, “That’ll show the bums at Fox News that I mean business. And then to drive the lesson home, I’ll team up with the one nation that’s always had our best interests at heart -- Russia!”
But not even Chamberlain would have thought of announcing that so long as an enemy -- not that we have any in the age of Obama -- only uses chemical or biological weapons to attack us or one of our allies -- not that we have any in the age of Obama -- we vow not to use nuclear weapons in retaliation.
We’ve all heard of people who were so dumb they brought a knife to a gunfight. We have a commander in chief who’d bring a water pistol.
How in the world did we come to elect a knucklehead who only talks tough to England, Israel and the Tea Party crowd, and who thinks it’s a nifty idea to replace the Geneva Conventions with the Marquis of Queensberry rules?
Who, I’d like to know, would have ever guessed that we’d come to regard the Carter years as the good old days?

Burt,What can I say? You hit the nail right on the head (pardon the pun!).Lefties have the "do as I say, not as I do" mentality. It is perfectly alright for them to say that they will be understanding and forgiving; but, woe be it upon the individual(s) who differ with them. These poor sods are guilty for the happenstance of being born. Just look at Bill Clinton, he was all in favor of all the female equality stuff as long as he could enjoy a good cigar. John Edwards castigated all conservatives as sexists, racists and homophobes. I'm absolutely positive his mistress and the little liberal are just "pleased as punch" by John's ethical standards.Tom Clancy wrote of the ethics committees in one of his Jack Ryan books something like this: Jack Ryan speaking (to Sergei Golovko, I think): "if you have to write down your ethics laws; you have already lost." Tom, I apologize of the quote isn't absolute; but, I think I have the idea. The House and Senate ethics committees are no different than the Bar Association, the AICPA, the Medical Association, etc. allegedly policing their own members. It ain't gonna happen.Duke

Burt,Right on as usual! They take deception to new levels. The majority of Liberals act off of what Alfred Adler called an Inferiority Complex. Most liberals suffered some sort of inferiority traits, over or within their lives, such as insecurity, timidity, cowardliness, or an increased need for support, submissive obedience, and masochism, that they attempt character stability through compensatory behaviors. Liberals attempts at overcoming inferiorities are usually never reached, so their “superiority strivings” eventually shows as imprudence, stubbornness, impertinence, rebelliousness, defiance, and fantasies of grandeur or being heroes. This is especially troublesome with those in powers who have no need, are unaware of, nor have the desire to change pathological cognitions, beliefs or behaviors. So as you can see their pathology is a never-ending search to fill their own inadequacies or superiority strivings, so their ineffective compensations are made up in zealot, but twisted, public and social beliefs and policies.I really believe Liberalism, or absolute dependence, is a psychological malady of the psyche, and one that unfortunately harms us all as a people and a nation.

At least judging by the comments that greet my articles, the Patriot Post has the brightest, most erudite readers, of any blog I have yet encountered. To tell you the truth, it can be a little intimidating writing for this crowd.Cheers, Burt

Doesn't, not saying what they mean or mean what they say, fall under the ten commandments (oops ten suggestions)? Didn't kommandant klinton break at least two of them. And then there is the hero of Chappaquiddick, how many did he break. I understand Mary Jo had no comment.

Most deffinatly RIGHT. I have the unwanted pleasure of sitting by two liberals every day! Constantly critciseing my political veiws and denouncig the Republican party. They are all (in my oppinion) fools. I decided to ask them what they think of Obama's aginda and plans and they supported him but had no idea of what he is doing or planning to do in the future to this great nation. If you don't know the persons planns, history, personality, beleifs why vote for him!!!! I will give you a hint why.. you need only to look at his skin tone to find out.

I think you're misreading the left's schadenfreude over anti-gay Republicans getting caught in flagrante delicto. A commenter over at Gawker summed things up nicely (you can read the whole comment here: http://gawker.com/5531106/comment-of-the-day-oh-happy-gay): "I generally have some sympathy for closet cases.... but George, if you are reading this: Kiss my fat gay..." I'm sure you can imagine how the quote ends. The rage isn't about what we approve or don't approve of behind closed doors. It's about people who've spent their careers working against gay rights and then one wide stance in an airport bathroom later, and it turns out they're gay themselves. That's funny to us, in a funny-cuz-it's-sad sort of way.

Another direct hit, Burt! What else can we expect from people who admire mass murderers and try to emulate the worst thugs in human history? Funny how they always demonize the good guys (that would be us) and celebrate the bad guys (that would be Communists, dictators, tyrants, murderers, and thieves).

Burt,See if you can get a guest writer's spot on the Huffington Post.I might really enjoy reading the specious reactions to your columns. And if permitted, I hope you have very thick skin. Most liberals I know can't take any dissention and characteristically resort to name calling, aggression, and threats.Again, it is unfortunately an unpleasant liberal temperament, but one that could only be corrected with extended psychoanalysis. We could convert many liberals to conservatism and true independent lifestyles, but getting them into psychotherapy has been historically a difficult task. As the old saying goes, “you can lead a horse (donkey) to water, but you can’t make them drink!” Ha Cheers to you too!Bob

The liberal mentality is obviously not understandable to those who do not share it.Besides, they operate on what they hope for rather than what is real or true. Living in a fantasy world of make believe makes it impossible to reason with them let alone understand them. And to them, the ends always justify the means as long as those means are within the mentality of the liberal mind. Thus their double standards, their justification for all kinds of evil, their desire to have complete power and control over humanity and the earth, and their heroic defense of anyone who works towards their goal of complete dominance over the entire world.

I'd wanted to write something witty like "Liberals always learn lessons at our expense"! Problem is. They never learn despite the high price we pay.

For instance, take the Liberal minds assessment of economic laws. Invariably THEY will say,- the economy will grow to pay the taxes required to fund the social entitlement programs THEY endlessly propose, that there somehow someway will be someone who will produce the wealth THEY require. And that that person will not object when THEY come to possess that wealth which THEY then change their thoughts to being a finite quantity of wealth which must be redistributed equally among all the masses through their hands, and which somehow someway always gets lost in transit from the producers to the entitled, and the Liberals always get richer and the poor do really get poorer. its the Robin Hood thing rob from the rich and give to the poor only Robin keeps a very large procurement fee.
