Dems at War: Public Unions vs. Gentry Liberals

Look for the public employee unions to prevail. There are so many government employees in the SEIU, AFSCME, and the teachers unions, such a large proportion of their dues are relayed by union bosses directly to the Democratic Party that the party will not be able to wean itself of such steady and substantial funding. The gentry liberals include some very wealth people who make large contributions. As a source of campaign contributions, however, the gentry liberals would not seem to be as reliable as the unions. Follow the money. Let's see what happens.

Here in Oregon, the public employee unions pick the winners and losers in all of the important Democrat primaries. Our current attorney general, a former liberal law professor, was hand picked by the SEIU and the Oregon Education Association over a Democrat State Senator in the 2008 Democrat Primary. The unions picked the law professor and funded almost his entire campaign because his opponent, Democrat State Senator Greg McPherson, had supported (at the request of Oregon's liberal Democrat governor)some modest reforms to Oregon's unbelievably lavish Public Employee Retirement System, which is so expensive that it is heading the state towards bankruptcy. The public employee unions wanted to send a message to all Democrat candidates that crossing the union agenda will effectively end your political aspirations. The message was sent and received.Breaking the frightening power of the public employee unions, which are the primary funding source of the Democrat machine, must be the first priority of conservatives. If we fail to do that, everything else we do will either fail or quickly be undone. (bill@otu.org)

I believe the days of union democrat domination may be slowly coming to a close. Unions are one of the things that is helping to drive independents to the right. The blatant Obamunist union giveaways have angered just about everyone who is non-union and has managed to find out about them. If the MSM wasn't so corrupt, unions wouldn't be calling the shots with the jacka$$eS today.
