Obama's Chosen People
· Saturday, July 24, 2010
Apparently, one of Obama’s orders to NASA was to reach out to Muslim nations, celebrating them for their contributions to science, math and engineering. So, in short order, we’ve gone from reaching for the moon to reaching for Tehran.
I say if we’re going that far back in history, we should also take a moment to thank whomever was responsible for coming up with shoes, because in living memory, the only contribution to science made by the Muslim world was turning human beings into delivery systems for bombs.
But it’s not just Obama who seems to be taking his directions from Mecca. The town council of Darlaston, England, painted over the windows at its public swimming pool at the insistence of the local Muslims.
One elderly Englishwoman complained that after her recent cataract operation, she had looked forward to seeing the trees outside the facility while swimming her daily laps. Instead, thanks to the paint job, she felt as if her cataracts had returned.
Several questions occur to me, aside from the most obvious one: Why are the English kowtowing to Sharia law?
To begin with, why are Muslim women swimming in public? Even if those outside the pool can no longer ogle them, what about all those randy English blokes who are splashing around inside? Will they be forced to don blindfolds? How about reaching a compromise by removing the paint and making the Muslim women swim in burqas?
Even though Obama seems to regard Muslims as God’s chosen people, and by “God” he obviously means himself, I’m here to remind everyone that the most important off-year election in our history is now less than four months away. Even if the Republican on your ballot isn’t your conservative ideal, please keep in mind that he or she is part of the antidote to ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, increased taxes and additional stimulus bills.
If nothing else impels you to get out and vote on November 2nd, remind yourself that if the GOP regains control of the House, Nancy Pelosi will not only have to surrender the Speaker’s gavel, but that jumbo jet she’s grown to love. Surely that should be enough to get you off the couch, come Election Day.
Additionally, if the GOP takes back the House, the Republicans will control the nation’s purse strings, which will help transform the turkey in the Oval Office into a lame duck.
It’s hard to believe, but after the 2008 elections, I worried that the Whigs would make a comeback long before the Republicans. But, then, I never imagined that the Democrats in Congress would enter into political suicide pacts on behalf of Obama’s loony, leftist agenda.
In a way, Obama reminds me of an old-time movie director named Mitchell Leisen. Although Leisen was only moderately successful, he inadvertently played a major role in the history of motion pictures. In the 1930s, Preston Sturges was a screenwriter at Paramount Studios. He became so dissatisfied with the way Leisen directed his scripts, he begged the higher-ups for the chance to direct them himself. They finally capitulated, and Sturges went on to write and direct such comedy classics as “Hail the Conquering Hero,” “The Miracle of Morgan’s Creek” and “The Lady Eve.”
As if that weren’t reason enough to earn a nation’s gratitude, Leisen also managed to aggravate screenwriter Billy Wilder, who then used Sturges’ success as leverage with the studio bosses. That, in turn, led to “The Major and the Minor,” “Lost Weekend,” “Double Indemnity,” “Sunset Blvd.,” “The Apartment” and “Some Like It Hot.”
So, just as Leisen led to Sturges and Wilder, and Jimmy Carter led to Ronald Reagan, one can only hope and pray that, in 2012, Obama leads to someone who is man or woman enough to clean up his unholy mess.
Finally, even in the gloomiest of times, I like to find something that will lift my spirits and make my soul sing. So it is that between now and November 2nd, no matter how bleak things may look, I know that I’ll get through it by reminding myself that a Portland masseuse got to call Nobel Peace Prize recipient Al Gore “a crazed sex poodle.”

Burt,
As usual, no punches pulled. Your honestly is refreshing in our too politically correct world.
If they mean contributions to Improvised Explosive Devices, it seems our Muslim brothers have brought that to a new science.
It is a shame they cannot use that radically directed energy towards more human endeavors. Death, destruction, and primitive beliefs seem their only ambitions. The majority are likened to cavemen.

Burt, you have to keep reminding people about Nov. and how important this election is. I'm not a Repub. or Dem. and don't beleive in either one, but this an election to stop this adminestration from further destroying this country. Reid and Pelosi have to be removed, and in order to do so you must vote Repub. By doing so you will also send a message to the Repubs. that says don't goof up, or you will be gone next time too. It will take a couple election cycles to do this but it's better than what's going on now. You can keep fixing a broken car until it get's to the point that it's not worth it, and trash it and start over. To bad people don't realize it's cheaper to do it now rather than waiting till next time. I hope the Dems. spend it all after the election, bankrupt us and then we can get it going again in the right direction. When it's all gone the people will then realize what happened, but not until then. I hope they remove the Mortgage Intrest deduction and raise capitol gains so it will hit people between the eyes and open them up, also the Bush Tax Cuts need to expire. Until that happens people will continue to have hope and beleive the Gov't. wouldn't do that. Right now they are struggling along, alot of them on unemployment hoping it gets better. They need to make it happen now, get it done and start over. To many people living on unemployment that don't need to, but they get more than going to work. Maybe they got a bad deal and were laid off, but that's not our fault, don't hold us responsible for that, get ahold of your life and get going. Go back and remember how you started, with nothing and built yourself up to where you are. That time has come again, get going, Vote!

I hope & pray that O doesn't ruin it so bad that the next Pres can't fix it.
A good reminder to uninformed voters would be to vote straight Republican so as not to split up the votes and have a Dem win anyway.
I am not saying I believe the GOP is the answer we need, but it would be far better than allowing Dems to get in or stay in. Even Joe the plumber and Flo the waitress would be better than what we have now.
I refer to our president as O because it reminds me of a zero, which is the number of promises he kept and the balance in our bank accounts when he's done.

This article heightens my understanding of the Muslim’s ability to entice martyrdom acts from their subjects. The elected democrats strapped on the yes votes to the America assassination policies Obama set into place and did it with total disregard to their political lives. We don’t know if they were promised virgins in their afterlife or not. Such a loyal blind following would make one believe that the Muslims goal could be “Give me bondage or give me death”. Even if there are no virgins in these followers’ afterlives the freedom alone from not having to be affiliated anymore would be a great consolation. So on Oct. 2nd We The People will be given the opportunity to liberate and release these elected fools from their total insanity. We will be doing for them what they are not able to do for themselves.

Since Obama's father was Muslim it is not a stretch of our imagination that he was schooled in his formative years for an affinity for Muslims.
But I think that people are wrong to compare the "messia" to FDR or Carter. I believe he is a mixed race copy of Clement Attlee. Clement Attlee ,the 1st Earl Attlee, KG, OM, CH, PC (1883–1967): Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1945 to 1951, under whose government the National Health Service and Welfare State were established.
And he also believed in appeasement. Only his chosen target for appeasement was Adolph Hitler, and Obama has chosen the radical Muslim extremist in Iran. He also is soft on the Russian "former" KGB Col.Putin.
Which I believe makes him more dangerous than Attlee!

Burt makes an important point that deserves highlighting. It will be the Republican party candidates in most districts that will have the opportunity to unseat Democrats. In many cases the tea party conservative candidates will be the Republican nominee if the primaries have worked as they should.
It is critical to note that any Democrat governor WILL take any opportunity to replace an elected Republican Senator with a Democrat, and that can change the balance of power in Congress. Do not be fooled into thinking you can vote for a conservative Democrat - in any office, and get a conservative. They will count as Democrats and will support the democrat progressive/socialist power grab.
Remember that Reagan was able to right the Ship of State in relatively short order. ( It only took Iran a matter of hours to get the picture). We have a chance to starve the Washington behemoth. "All money bills originate in the House" ( unless the democrats bend the rules ) and "Congress holds the purse strings". Time to tighten them up!

Thank you, Dr. Timms, for underlining my point. There are no conservative Democrats. We have seen all the Democrats in the House and Senate, no matter how they would describe themselves, united in pushing Obama's agenda for the past year and a half. The only people pushing back are Republicans. They deserve our support. At least until they prove they don't, which, unfortunately, is pretty much what they did between 2000 and 2006.

Burt,
You wrote "Even if the Republican on your ballot isn’t your conservative ideal, please keep in mind that he or she is part of the antidote to ObamaCare, Cap and Trade, increased taxes and additional stimulus bills." In the Illinois senate race we have a conservative Democrat and a liberal Republican.
I know the rino Kirk will vote along with the Democrats whenever he gets a chance, since he voted for the health care bill. So, how is that an antidote?

My mistake Burt,
I thought that Mark Kirk voted for the massive health care Bill. He did not. He is actually a part of the team to try to get it repealled. I guess one must check several 'sources' for information nowadays.

In these elections, someone answered, if you aren't sure, here is a good formula,
To "bridge the gap" until we come to higher ground - Here's who to vote for:
NO DEMOCRAT
REPUBLICAN
The BEST Candidate would be:
REPUBLICAN with TEA PARTY ENDORSEMENT OR
INDEPENDENT WITH TEA PARTY ENDORSEMENT
TEA PARTY ENDORSEMENT means 1. Boundaries of the Constitution upheld
2. Oath of Office - Afraid to "break the Oath of Office" because of the "fear of God" and the accountability God will require.

Larz--I'm no big fan of Kirk, who seems to have a problem with misspeaking, but I would vote for any Republican over any Democrat. As we have seen, the Democrats have been in lockstep with Obama, Pelosi and Reid, whether the adjective they apply to themselves is conservative, moderate or liberal. It doesn't mean I'm crazy about all the Republicans, but to vote for a Democrat means that you see no difference between putting Roberts and Alito on the Supreme Court and putting Sotomayor and Kagan on the bench. Democrats must never be in a position to control tax dollars or court appointments, and people who allow themselves to be conned by the use of "conservative" behind "Democrat" and "liberal" behind "Republican" deserve to be disenfranchised.

Burt, I have mouthed your words so many times...that I would vote for ANY Republican over ANY democrat. This after coming from a staunch union, democrat family. Democrats, no matter how well-meaning they might begin, are under the thumbs of the vast majority of their democrat colleagues, and, if they don't follow in lockstep, will be ostracized and stripped of any power. I work with some very conservative people who have said that one party is as bad as the other, and have spent countless hours arguing this point, trying my damndest not to become angry at their (what's a nice word for stupidity?). Democrats spend much time trying to convince the American people that they are the party of freedom and tolerance, while they could not be more wrong. For me, it's a simple matter of looking at who supports democrats. The Communist Party, unions, William Ayers (a vicious terrorist in his own right), Jeremiah Wright, Acorn, black Panther Party, ILLEGAL aliens, those who depend on the government for handouts, most convicted felons (this is why democrats want to restore their voting privelieges), and of course, Castro, Chavez, and countless terrorists. But then, I tend to over simplify things. Educate yourselves, people, before pulling that lever.

Kev--I share your frustration. The truth seems so obvious to some of us. It's a matter of connecting the dots, but those on the Left can't even see the dots in front of their nose.
A nice word for stupidity, by the way, is stupidity. Whenever I think about the evil that has been perpetrated by Obama and his cronies, no really nice words occur to me.

We have to remember that we are in a marathon, not a sprint - patience and sticking to facts works - I now have my father-in-law who has voted Democrat his entire life, attending Tea Party meetings, believing corporations do not pay taxes and since I aspire to be 'rich' and put him to work....

ugh, I expect better than this from patriotpost.
Sorry, I couldn't stomach anymore of your article after reading "I say if we’re going that far back in history, we should also take a moment to thank whomever was responsible for coming up with shoes, because in living memory, the only contribution to science made by the Muslim world was turning human beings into delivery systems for bombs."
Try Google. Try a library. Muslims had water purification, medicine, astronomy, advanced agriculture and even eye surgery, while all of Europe was still stuck in the dark ages.
While it saddens me that a peaceful religion like Islam can be distorted by a handful of Renegades, there is no questioning the contribution of Muslims to our society.
Words like that lessen our credebility to the other side, and give them fodder for calling us racist bigots.

I also don't believe you actually stopped reading the article at that point. James, your comprehension is at fault here.
I do have a question though, If Islam is a peaceful and loving religion why did its founder lead his followers into wars with the purpose of coverting the infidels by the sword? Why do they not tolerate any other religion in the countries they are a majority in? Why do they violate the laws of the foreign lands they immigrate to and then demand the laws to be changed to suit them.

I for one am very afraid that this administartion has had time to implement the means to steal the next election, & probably the previous. Community Organizing. I propose that their be no poll worker volunteers. That the poll workers should come from randomly drawn jury pools. That on any election week, no court sessions be held on that Monday &Tuesday. That enough jurors be called to the local pool to have a full jury oversee the local precincts, & court bailiffs be assigned as Sgt-@-Arms to protect voters from intimidation.Monday the jurors will vote as a separate precinct& will be trained: voter ID verification, counting&certifying the PAPER ballots, etc., and divide into precinct assignments, Tuesday report to precinct & do the job.

Burt, living memory? hmmmm, perhaps. Though I'm sure there are plenty of Muslims working at NASA and ESA. I still stand by my thoughts that the authors comments were way out of line.
Oh and yes, I did stop reading. I simply scanned the remainder of article. ;)
Mike, most religions are peaceful, it's the people that make them violent. What you just said of Islam can also be said of Christianity and Judaism. If you've ever known, worked with, or had a friend who was a practicing Muslim, you'd know what I was talking about.
Still take issue with the author's blatant racist comments.

James & Mary--I was not attacking a race, but merely a religion. Although I am not a religious person, I do think that those who defend Islam on the grounds that it is no worse than Judaism or Christianity are being ingenuous at best, moronic and hypocritical at worst. I am not saying that the other religions have been perfect down through the ages, but finding a moral equivalence between those who have no problem with blowing up pizza parlors, schools and the Twin Towers; female mutilation; and religious intolerance; and modern-day Judaism and Christianity have no moral standing. And if you're comparing Islam as it exists in 2010 with the other major religions as they existed hundreds or even thousands of years ago, most rational people would have agree that you're being neither logical nor reasonable.

I simply can't buy that islam is a religion of peace. While I'm sure every religion has its evil people, few of these people commit violence in the name of their religion this day and age, except muslims. And what kind of people blow up their wives and their innocent children in the name of their religion? I have not heard an outcry from the muslim community against the violence and bombings committed in the name of allah. Sure, there have been some weak denials, but no real condemnation from the muslims who have put themselves forward as leaders. I wonder if James was as ready to condemn Jeremiah Wright for his blatant racism as he is to blame the author for simply stating facts.

Andre: Carter was worse than Reagan in the way that 21% inflation, 11% unemployment, a weak military and long lines at the gas pumps are worse than good economic numbers, a strong military and no lines at the gas pumps. Moreover, Carter opened the door to the Ayatollah and the ensuing three decades of Islamic terrorism by turning his back on the Shah of Iran. Carter also twiddled his thumbs while the Ayatollah held civilized people hostages for hundreds of days. Because the creeps knew that Reagan was no twiddler, he was no sooner elected than the hostages were released. Did I mention that Reagan helped nail down the coffin on the Soviet Union?
Based on your question, I'm sure you'll disagree,

A joke making the internet rounds goes like this: Two Muslim women are talking. One takes out some photos and starts to show them to the other woman. The first is of a handsome young man. The woman explains it is a photo of her son who would be 24 now, but died a martyr's death shortly after the photo was taken. She displays 2 more similar photos of young men and relates that they shared the same fate as their older brother. To which the other woman responds, with a heavy sigh, "Children, they blow up so fast these days, don't they?"

"but finding a moral equivalence between those who have no problem with blowing up pizza parlors, schools and the Twin Towers; female mutilation; and religious intolerance; and modern-day Judaism and Christianity have no moral standing"
There is no moral equivalence. You're absolutely correct. Where you're wrong is in assuming every Muslim condones that behavior. You're wrong in assuming it's the religion, and not just a few whacko's
The few whacko's run the government, media, etc. The other 95% are peaceful, spiritual folk. To lump them all into one is no better than finding a moral equivalent as you stated above.
Whakco's running Islamic countries, would be similar to Pat Robertson and the KKK running the US. The leaders don't represent the population/religion as a whole.

The problem, James, is that the whackcos, as you call them, run all of the Muslim nations. Even Turkey, which had been an exception, has veered off the tracks. The "peaceful, spiritual folk" are remaining silent, even in the U.S. where they have nothing to fear. After 9/11 when America's Muslims were whining about being racially profiled, I suggested they could show their goodwill by passing the hat in their mosques and raising money for a reward to be placed on Obama bin Laden's head. It never happened. What did happen was that they continued funding Hamas and Hezbollah through their "charities" until the F.B.I. shut them down.
But please keep writing. You may write something sensible one of these days. By now, the odds would seem to be in your favor.

James, I believe there's a very big difference between Pat Robertson and "whackos running muslim countries." Pat Robertson has never viciously murdered anyone nor does he advocate killing anyone. And to make Pat Robertson disappear, you turn off your radio or tv and he's gone! Get my point? As far as the kkk, they've been without power ever since Bobby Byrd left their ranks to become a democrat senator! If the vast majority of muslims, 95% as you claim, are against this vicious terrorism, why don't they speak out? Why don't they stop it?

Burt,
I think Mary was not agreeing with James, but rather with Kevin. James reveals himself as a misguided apologist for the left in each of his posts. You are way too kind in your replies, but I respect you for that.
I was in the miliotary on Jimmy Carter's watch and saw how he dismantled our defense to the point that we couldn't mount a rescue effort in the desert. I was in Europe as that abomination went down and was SO glad when Reagan was elected. I was in California as the Professor of Aerospace Studies at San Jose State University when he was reelected by a landslide. We had a formal Dining Out the day of the election and we cheered as state after state went to Reagan. Hoorah!
James is obviously too young to have experienced Carter other that as the nice guy who helps build houses. Makes you wonder about his living memory, though, doesn't it.
