Congress has adjourned for their August recess and the Leftists won't be collectively mounting legislative assaults on Liberty while they're outside the Beltway.

Thus, given that your Patriot Team members work very long hours in defense of Liberty, I insist they take a week off every August for some well-deserved R&R with their families. They will be out on a recess — or, as Congress now calls it, a "District Work Period," next week.

One of us, the lowest paid member of the team (me), has to remain on watch. So, I am sending you this note to soothe the temporary withdrawal symptoms you are experiencing, having received no other posts this week!

You will be hearing much more about this when my staff returns next week, but I believe Mitt Romney's choice of Paul Ryan sets up a winning Republican ticket in November, which is the right direction for conservatives. Sen. Marco Rubio enthusiastically summed up my opinion of this combo, saying, "Paul Ryan is a courageous reformer who understands our nation's challenges, has proposed bold policy solutions to solve them, and has shown the courage to stand up to Obama and other Washington politicians. The Romney-Ryan ticket is going to win in November because it offers the American people visionary leadership to recapture the free enterprise spirit that has empowered countless Americans to build businesses from scratch and live the American dream."

Yes, Obama will get some traction at the Democrat's convention if he announces that Hillary Clinton (or some other Leftist with at least a few functioning cognitive ability), will replace Joe Biden as his VP, but Romney-Ryan will overwhelm that ticket. It is time that we American Patriots, unify our ranks with the single objective of defeating and expelling the grave threat to Liberty who now occupies the White House.
