Alexander: Remarks for Tea Party Rally

Thursday, April 15, 2010

As I look out at the Patriots gathered here today, I am reminded that there is a community organizer in the White House, Barack Hussein Obama, who described Tea Party Patriots as a bunch of malcontents "waving their little teabags."

Are you malcontents "waving little teabags"?

I took the liberty to drop Obama a certified letter, in which I set the record straight on just who populates our ranks. I informed him:

We are American Patriots, defenders of First Principles and Essential Liberty.

We are Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardians and public servants standing in harm's way at home and around the world, who are loyal, first and foremost, to our revered oath to support and defend our Constitution.

We are grassroots leaders and local, state and national officeholders who, likewise, honor our sacred oath.

We are moms, dads and other family members nurturing the next generation of young Patriots.

We are farmers, craftsmen, tradesmen and industrial producers. We are small business owners, service providers and professionals in medicine and law. We are employees and employers. We are in ministry at home and missionaries abroad. We are students and professors at colleges and universities, often standing alone for what is good and right.

We are consumers and taxpayers. We are voters.

We are not defined by race, creed, ethnicity, religion, wealth, education or political affiliation, but by our devotion to our Creator, and the liberty He has entrusted to us, one and all.

We are Patriot Sons and Daughters from all walks of life, heirs to the blessings of Liberty bequeathed to us by our Patriot Forebears, confirmed in the opinion that it is our duty to God and Country to extend that blessing to our posterity, and avowed upon our sacred honor to that end. We are vigilant, strong, prepared and faithful.

And we are much more...

Needless to say, folks, I did not receive a response from Obama.

My fellow Patriots, a year ago, the Tea Party movement was formulating its mission and today, our mission is clear: We must, first and foremost, restore constitutional integrity and the Rule of Law.

On December 16th, 1773, "radicals" from Boston, members of a secret organization of American Patriots called the Sons of Liberty, boarded three East India Company ships and threw into Boston Harbor 342 chests of tea.

This iconic event, in protest of oppressive British taxation and tyrannical rule, became known as the Boston Tea Party.

Today, the tax burden borne by most Americans, even those who pay no direct federal taxes but at the least pay a great hidden cost in federal regulation, is far greater than that which incited our Founders to revolution.

The biggest hammer the government uses to pound the Rule of Law into submission is the U.S. Tax Code.

The cause of, and necessity for, the American Revolution was the violation of fundamental rights, those to which Americans and all peoples are entitled by the Laws of Nature and Nature's God.

Unjust taxation was the catalyst for the first American Revolution. Today, once again, our fundamental rights are being violated by unjust taxation for purposes not authorized by our Constitution.

The time is at hand when we must inquire with a unified voice: "If there is no constitutional authority for most laws and regulations enacted by Congress and enforced by the central government, then by what authority do those entities lay and collect taxes to fund such laws and regulations?"

The Left has bankrupted the nation and the bill for freeloading on others is coming due. It will most certainly be paid back in the currency of liberty.

As Former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher aptly noted, the problem with socialists is that "they always run out of other people's money."

It is time for tenacious resistance and rebellion against the current thrones of government. This is not a call for revolution but for restoration -- to undertake whatever measures are dictated by prudence and necessity to restore constitutional Rule of Law.

As it was with our forefathers, today, millions of American Patriots across the nation are, "with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, mutually pledging to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor," in our endeavor to restore our Constitution's integrity and the Rule of Law.

The mission of The Patriot Post is to give voice to Essential Liberty, to restore constitutional limits on government and the judiciary, and to promote free enterprise, national defense and traditional American values.

Our objective is to provide Patriots across our nation, grassroots conservatives from all walks of life, with a touchstone of First Principles, a constitutional lens through which to view the role of government.

I encourage you to join us, and do not leave here today without picking up your Essential Liberty guide.

We must all be able to educate our family, friends and associates about why the Rule of Law must prevail over the rule of men. This little book will help you make that case.

If we fail to accomplish this task, and Rule of Law is overwhelmed by the rule of men, tyranny and anarchy will prevail, and the ultimate arbiter of the law will depend not upon constitutional rule but ultimately, and crudely, upon which of the rivals possesses more firepower.

Patriots take heart.

In the dark days of the Revolution, George Washington advised, "We should never despair, our Situation before has been unpromising and has changed for the better, so I trust, it will again. If new difficulties arise, we must only put forth new Exertions and proportion our Efforts to the exigency of the times."

Remember the words of my favorite Founder, Samuel Adams, "It does not take a majority to prevail ... but rather an irate, tireless minority, keen on setting brushfires of freedom in the minds of men."

And a final word for Obama and his cadre of Leftists: Don't tread on us. We are everywhere!

Fellow Patriots, hold your ground and keep your powder dry.

Mark,

Excellent article. And, so very true. Benjamin Franklin also said it well when he commented 'that those who would give up liberty for a little security deserve neither.' (paraphrasing, sorry Ben)

The latter is just what the liberals and the ultra-left are counting on. And, for that, those who accept deserve to be shunned.

The only other comment I have is to follow the principles set down by GOOOH.com. We truly need to replace ALL 435 members of the House and ALL 100 members of the Senate. Even those who are conservative in nature have, by and large, failed the People of the Nation for they have failed to prevent the takeover of our government by Socialists bent on control and not governance.

They must all be driven from office and continue to be driven from office until those elected realize who they represent.

Duke

This letter should be sent to the Supreme Court as well ... their decisions must be solidly based on the Constitution of this Great Nation ... not their personal whims ...
