Obama and Biden File Their Taxes

Friday, April 16, 2010

Barack Obama released his 2009 tax returns Thursday revealing that he and Michelle brought in $5.5 million in 2009, mostly due to book sales.

According to The Washington Times:

Estimates by charitable organizations show that most givers donate between 3 and 5 percent of their income.

Mr. Obama and first lady Michelle Obama exceeded that range. The First Couple gave 5.9 percent -- or $329,000 -- of their $5.5 million of income to charity in 2009.

We'll give them half a cheer for their modest generosity in spreading their own wealth. And in fairness, we hasten to add that Obama donated the $1.4 million in Nobel Peace Prize award money to 10 charities as he promised when he was honored last year. Of course, the Obamas did pay $1.8 million in federal income taxes and another $163,303 in Illinois income taxes.

Joe and Jill Biden, on the other hand, were downright stingy with giving. On $333,000 in income in 2009, the Bidens gave a measly $4,820, or 1.44 percent, to charity. At least Joe did his "patriotic duty" and paid $71,147 in federal income taxes and $12,420 in Delaware income taxes. To liberals, it's only generous if the government makes you do it.

Is it not somewhat hilarious that the Obama's, Socialism's first family, do NOT hesitate to earn a great deal of money?

After all, if they were not living in this dreadful, disgusting excuse for a nation; how would they have been able to earn such a large income? Certainly not in their ideal homeland of Cuba or Venezuela.

I always find it amusing when the ultra-left complains about some people and their large incomes; but, never complain about their own extravagances.

Just a thought.

Did anyone notice that the Obama's did NOT pay any taxes out of their own pocket? Actuallyc their tax bill was paid courtesy of the idiots who thought they had something worth saying so they bought Obama's books. What fool's they! All that needed be done was leave the tv on..

Obama, who professes to be a "Christian" fell far short of the mandatory tithe (10%), and "gave" nothing beyond that. We won't even discuss the paltry 1.44% given by the Bidens. How will they assuage their consciences when they run out of "other people's money" (ours) to give away?

To me it is astonishing that the more that people make, the less they give than less well off. You

are more likely find those modestly well off giving

more proportioally than the wealthy. Church goers

give up to 10% of their income for offerings while

the wealthy, (a million or more) will give 1-4%! It

really doesn't matter how much one earns, its where

his heart is.

Did people really think that Obama was a christian and that he was an American like the one who were born her! You have got to be crazy! If Obuma is a christian then I'm snata cluase! WHERE is this mans Birth Certificate? Support Lt Col Terry Lakin, contribute to his defend fund and make the discovery of Obuma's Birth (REAL ONE) certificate be shown!!!

Edward sorry you violate every concept of conservatism with that comment. Whose money does Stephen King spend? I am no supporter of Barrack Jokebama but lets keep it real, ridiculous premises like that are what get the right wing deemed as nut jobs. Homer, a birther? really? REALLY? O'Reilly did some research on this matter way back when and there are hospital records of his birth. If all we can attack this guy on is his faith and his place of birth then WE need to do a little bit of soul searching and prioritizing don't you think? Expressing dislike and distrust for policy issues and politics are legitimate and can further the conservative cause by helping to sway moderates toward more conservative ideals. The Obamas are a young family and have 2 daughters that will be attending private school for the rest of their adolesent lives. This will not be cheap. Neither will be College. I cant find fault in his donating above the National average. Especially since the Nobel Prize money was not included in that percentage. The Bidens on the other hand were just plain stingy.

Obama is a very evil man. He's also either a very stupid man or a very ignorant one if he thinks his policies are helping this country. Unfortunately, we have roughly 50% of the country not paying taxes. Many if not all of them actually get back a federal return bigger than the tax amount they originally paid in before getting it all back.

I read, with hilarity, the amount of money that Joe Biden and his wife donated to charity. What a joke!

Joe and his wife make 8 times more money than I do and I donated almost twice as much to charity last year than they did.

D.D.

I want to go on record as demanding that the term "tax refund" be used ONLY for those who have paid taxes. Therefore all "News" organizations and every official pronouncement from every political subdivision shall henceforth use some other term to describe "tax" money returned to those who haven't paid taxes...let's see...How about "welfare handout"?

Since charity has become the purview of government, liberal guilt at being stingy is assuaged. Their beliefs are: since government is doing it for them they don't have to be concerned with churches, or their fellow man. Government is the arbiter.

Lovely sentiment for the faithless and God-less.

Not for those who believe charity is Love and not cheese.

Remember, there are two standards. One for liberals that says they do not have to follow any standards and one for others that says they must follow the standards set by liberals.

Unfortunately, after Obama and the Dems get through with their schemes to take away all of our wealth, there will be no real charity left because we will all be living on bread crumbs begging our benevolent Socialist god for just a few more.

I don't think the estimate that people give 3-5% of their incomes has ever applied to liberals.

I think it is a fact that the poorest give a higher percentage of their income than the wealthiest.

The Obama's still came out with $3 million. Not a bad income after taxes and contributions, eh?

The Biden's have always been stingey. And he's "Catholic" so that makes it doubly disgusting.

Regarding Obama:

The man does not care or to simply state it, give a damn about America, the democratic party, or what Americans think of him. The man was and is very smart and funded by the Soros machine, communist party and others that his has duped.

He is doing exactly what he said he would do. And, he is getting away with it by not firing a shot in his coup.

We have to continue our civil disobedience, until it does not work....then when America is burning from the cut off of welfare and its programs, and it will, we will have a civil war.

May this corrupt congress and Obamas' cabinet and czars all burn in hell for all of eternity!!

God Bless America!

It bothers me to see negative criticism on the giving of these two men. I would never vote for either of them, thinking them incompetent to handle public office, but this is no reason to disparage their generosity. I am a member of the Southern Baptists, and a seminary student. Our seminary president told us that currently, Southern Baptists send only 2 percent of their funds outside the nation. Granted, some goes to worthy causes within the U.S., but a huge percentage stays in the home churches to operate their country-club-esque budgets. We have gyms, weight rooms, etc., while we know people in less posh nations could use a couple more missionaries. Meisseurs Obama and Biden, while I could never vote for you in good conscience, I much appreciate your giving.

How did this country elect a man that has never had a job! He has never had what 90% of the country would call a JOB. How can you relate to the working class? This guy is going to make Jimmy Carter look good before he is done.

The big question I'm not seeing asked is just what are these charities that he gave to? How many left-wing radical organizations exist under the "charity" banner?

Of course he gave and paid more this year. After loading up his cabinet with tax cheats he had to cover his own a** to a fare-thee-well, and his past "charitable generosity" has been pointed out to the voters. Now he's just trying to buy votes and taking steps so he can point to his "generosity."

I don't think it's necessary yet to remind the reader of obama's comment, "At sometime, don't you think you've already made enough?" because it is still "news."

A Real Poltik

I truly enjoy this blog.

It gives refreshing and poignant views that invite discussion and debate. The problem is I see little debate or discussion. What I read are (extreme right-wing) comments that do little to examine, explore or discuss the issues. I am a true centrist at heart giving me the right and ability to see both sides without having to take one or the other. What I would enjoy seeing more of are comments that actually speak to the issue rather than simply expounding more of the same party line damnation of anything the “other side” does.

May I suggest that instead of criticizing each and every thing, take time to write down your own thoughts and describe how you would do things differently or what you think should be done differently if you were the President. As a centrist I find fault with everyone, Bush, Clinton and of course Obama, but I also realize that they are human and each has their own beliefs and thoughts. It is the bringing of these different ideas together in a way that serves the American People that have make this country great. It is when the partisan divide reaches extremes that nothing of relevance gets done. A true statesman does what is best for the people not the party. I for one, am more interested in what is good for the people, rather than what is best for the party.

Finding fault is easy, delivering solutions is the challenge. I try not to comment except when it seems necessary. This is just one of those rare times.

*Edward - In this country the money you make off of books you write is "your" money.

*Buckshot - Bush Jr never had a real job...

*Desert - respect the office of the presidency regardless of your IQ.
