Pelosi: Musicians Can Quit Their Jobs and Get Health Care

Tuesday, May 18, 2010

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke to the Asian American and Pacific Islanders Summit at the Capitol Wednesday. She told them that musicians and other creative folks can quit their jobs and focus on their talents because the taxpayers have their back. Health care is free!

"We see [health care] as an entrepreneurial bill," Pelosi said, "a bill that says to someone, if you want to be creative and be a musician or whatever, you can leave your work, focus on your talent, your skill, your passion, your aspirations because you will have health care."

And you can take that one to the doctor's office.

Yeah, "free" health care. And food stamps. And housing. And utility assistance. And education. And breakfast and lunch for your kids. And WIC. And (at least in Wisconsin) a free cell phone. And how much more that I can't remember off hand?

My husband is a musician and I work a 50 hour week as an accountant. We pay for ALL that stuff, not just for ourselves, but for the deadbeats who live off the government. I think I'll chuck it in and start "focusing on my talent." I think the rest of Working America should do the same. THEN let the Obama/Pelosi/Reid machine figure out how to pay for "free" health care.

Idiots.

Entrepreneurial socialism. Isn't that an oxymoron?

About the time I think it can't possible become any more absurd, it does. This is so wrong on so many levels I am at a loss for civil comment. Suffice it to say, 2012 can't get here soon enough!

She's just thinking about her own re-election. Thanks to the Democrats' economic policies, half the voting population of San Francisco is sitting in a doorway playing the harmonica.

Yes, that's an exaggeration. A third of them play the saxophone.

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.” C.S. Lewis

Is Washington full of omnipotent moral busybodies? It would seem to be the case. Although these busybodies do not read from some holy text, rather they take inspiration from their whims and ever changing political winds.

Pelosi, the Pied Piper of the Arts.

She is leading this "bunch" to the abyss.

The Bible says, "If you don't work, you don't eat"

The Pied Piper of San Francisco will not change the principles God has established.

She will go down in INFAMY, but the Word of God abides FOREVER.

What parallel universe does this woman live in? There were all sorts of things I dreamed of doing before reality slapped me upside the head. I wanted to be a fireman, rock star, astronaut, cowboy, etc, etc, etc. But when you grow up you have to shed your childhood fantasies, and go out and earn a living. And it looks again like responsible citizens are going to get to pay for the folly of a bunch of dreamers. Is it time yet?

Yeah? Really? So, I want to be a writer; can I quit my day job in construction and focus on my talent, my passion? I this a$$hole going to pay my rent and my electric bill? Heck, while we're at it, she can buy me gas for my car, too! When do I start getting Pelosi's checks in the mail?

LMAO she is dumb. Im a musician and I know how much it costs to play live. I don't do that anymore, since Unemployment wasn't enough to keep my instruments maintained and to cover gas and what not for gigs. What she said will never happen. Another lie from the Democrats.

I have never seen a bigger conglomerate of idiots before in my life. Another reader mentioned the bible and not working so you don't eat-I didn't know we could mention the Bible anymore, just the Koran. Clinton is trying to get us in bed with the UN to make our 2nd amendement moot. Now when the drug cartells cross the border shooting it up or the local robbers, gangs, etc. we will be unarmed. Another lie by Obama and crew. We don't get to vote on this one either. Where can we move to????
