Newt Gingrich Wins South Carolina Primary
Saturday, January 21, 2012
From ABC: "Newt Gingrich will defeat Mitt Romney to win today's South Carolina primary, according to ABC News. Gingrich trailed Romney by double digits just days ago. But that changed quickly after Gingrich's fiery performance in Thursday night's debate."
Or...the Leftmedia-driven polls were just wrong. The ONLY poll that matters is the one registered in voting booths.
For the record, since the defeat of Jimmy Carter, every Republican primary candidate winning South Caroline went on to the general election.

Am I the only one that wants to puke when Gingrich, is called a conservative? He is a RINO's at best. Can anyone name one agency, bureau, department, rule, regulation, etc. that was abolished or repealed when Gingrich was speaker? Remember when kommandant klinton was closing parks and monuments because the House would not approve the budget? Gingrich could not jump fast enough or high enough to pass it. He castigated House members that would not go along. If the House held fast and did not pass the budget we would not be in the fiscal mess we have now. Now Gingrich believes he has a divine right to be king (oops President), sort of like Dole in 96. Gingrich also let the school gun ban pass. Did anyone say Virginia Tech? He also voted for the Lautenberg gun ban.

The American people will decide who will be the Republican candidate, not the news media and the pundits. Every ten minutes there is a new poll out and in most cases they are usually wrong.

I hate to say it but what it was that moved him up in the polls and with the voters was that he Demonized Capitalism and promoted class war fair, and did a good job of playing the victim card. All things that Press. Obama is also good at. It is to bad so many Republicans bought it. He is NO Reagan Conservative.

I do not believe thatGinrich rose late in the polls because he demonized capitalism. I beleiev he rose because he called out the media for having a left-wing bias. He domonstarted that he can stand up to the establishment press - at least on matters that relate directly to him and his candidacy.
Newt is very bright - and I beleive that he is bright enough, and brings enough of an historical perspective on the US and the world, that he can be guided by Congress. He is more conservative than Romney, and unless there is a brokered convention, it appears that it will be either Newt or Romney.
I believe that Romney brings some exeutive experience that Newt does not have, but if there ever was a compromising, law-making beaurocrat legislator that could get things done - it is Newt.
We must take over the Republican party and elect a Conservative Republican Congress ( starting by electing conservatives in the Repub primaries).
Congress can control the legislative agenda, and if Newt will learn not the express every thought that sparks across his noggin', we can reset the direction of this country.

I don't like either of them. However, I have to agree with the good doctor. Newt is definitely more conservative than Romney. Newt's checkered past and record aside, as well as discounting what I believe were a couple of knee-jerk campaign strike backs at Romney with little to no thought on the deeper meaning, over the last several years Newt has consisitently referenced the Consititution as the touchstone we have to get back to.
As far as it goes though, I will without a doubt vote in the general election for whoever wins the Republican nomination. I'd vote for a squished flat, roadkilled cat over Obama without giving it a second thought.
God Save the Republic.
