Wayne Allen Huntsman of California is charged with intentionally setting 70,000 (and counting) acres of land ablaze. “The King Fire, east of Sacramento, has been burning since Saturday, scorching more than 70,000 acres over 114 square miles,” reports Jessica York of the Santa Cruz Sentinel. “It was just 10 percent contained as of Thursday night, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection.” Nearly 3,000 people have been forced to leave their homes as a result. California is still suffering from an epic three-year drought, leaving dry land more vulnerable than usual to blazes. But despite the mega drought, and contrary to the Leftmedia’s mantra, the number of wildfires remains below historical levels. Remember that the next time someone claims wildfires are growing out of control thanks to global warming. And kindly remind that some of these fires are intentionally set.
