Democrat Consultant Guilty of Fraud
Conservative filmmaker and author Dinesh D'Souza faced a vigorous prosecution for his role in illegal campaign contributions made during the 2012 election, which the mainstream media thoroughly followed because of his party affiliation. D'Souza ultimately received a less severe sentencing than what prosecutors sought, but another case concerning illegal campaign funding – this time involving Democrats – is one you’re not likely to see discussed on primetime TV. Media Research Center’s Craig Bannister has the details: “Political consultant Thomas Lindenfeld has pleaded guilty to fraud and corruption charges involving illegal funneling of $15 million of federal grants to a shell ‘environmental’ group… In exchange for routing one million dollars of illegal campaign contributions to ‘Elected Official A’ – who news reports now identify as Pennsylvania Democrat Rep. Chaka Fattah – Lindenfeld would receive $15 million of federal grant money for his ‘Blue Guardians’ environmental group.” According to philly.com, “[T]he real goal was to use that money to pay Lindenfeld for campaign work in the congressman’s failed 2007 failed mayoral bid.” Rep. Fattah won his re-election bid last week, though so far no charges have been filed. Just goes to show that your best chance of staying out of prison is to be a member of Congress.
