Obama’s Iran Stance Softens

Next week’s scheduled speech by Benjamin Netanyahu has Democrats in a fury. Even though Iran has manipulated its way toward developing a nuclear warhead, Barack Obama increasingly treats Iran better than he does Israel. Courtesy of The Weekly Standard, here’s how Obama’s stance has, shall be say, “evolved” over the years. March 2012: “We are determined to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon.” September 2012: “[T]he United States will do what we must to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” November 2013: “Since I took office, I’ve made clear my determination to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” July 2014: “At the top of that list is our work to ensure that Iran does not ever acquire a nuclear weapon.” January 2015: “[W]e seek a comprehensive diplomatic solution to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon.” Finally, as rumor has it the U.S. is finalizing a stupid deal with Iran that contains no permanent stipulations, here’s what Obama said this week: “[N]egotiations … are currently taking place to try to reduce the possibility of Iran obtaining a nuclear weapon.” So now we’re merely attempting to “reduce” the possibility of a nuclear-armed Iran? What happened to eliminating that threat? Obama’s entered the final stage of his pretend presidency, and the midterms are over. With nothing to lose, the full extent of his demagoguery, imperial diktats and passive-aggressiveness will be on full display. More…
