"The regular distribution of power into distinct departments; the introduction of legislative balances and checks; the institution of courts composed of judges holding their offices during good behavior; the representation of the people in the legislature by deputies of their own election... They are means, and powerful means, by which the excellences of republican government may be retained and its imperfections lessened or avoided."

—Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 9, 1787

Who knew our Founding Fathers would be utopians. I long for the days they were regarded for their precise insights.

Every decision the current resident of the Oval Office makes moves America further away from what the Constitution (and our founders) intended. His polices eat away at the foundation of our Republic and weaken our ability to maintain individual liberty and national sovereignty. It is no wonder his personal hero is Abraham Lincoln, for they are much alike. But, in Lincoln's defense, at least he was a natural born citizen.

Obama and Lincoln are not alike. Lincoln had extrodanary circumstances in a civil war. Obama is taking away our freedom in a time of peace. We need to look the decisions Lincoln had to make ask Obama to make the hard decision as well. Obama needs to stop tring to please his voters that want a hand out. He needs to stop this socialist agenda of the government takeing care of everyone. This is breading lazy Americans who expect everything for nothing.

Our current president has had homosexual liasons in the back seat of limos when he was governor and has a mother in law who practices witchcraft in the whitehouse. Also, what does his passport say when he travels internationally? This may provide a clue as to his whether or not he is a natural born citizen.

Barbara, our current President has never been a governor. We don't need to invent issues with him. Every time he or someone from his administration opens his or her mouth we've got something to beat him up about. And wayne, Lincoln was a tyrant who had the cover of a war to "justify" his actions.

Barbara

Larry Sinclair accused Obama of homosexual acts and crack cocaine use in the back seat of a limo and at a hotel when Obama was a senator in Illinois. I made a mistake when I said that Obama was governor when he was really senator.

In this 'new' bread and circuses age where everything is relative, I remember taking oaths and vows with a seriousness > death, one of which was to a nation under God, and to a republic, not a democracy, most certainly not democracy's offspring.

Many here and elsewhere invoke some Constitution I cannot seem to find a copy of, using the aegis of separation of church and state, all the while wrapped in the warm blanket of another person's effort, placing us all under the yoke of our state religion, namely secular humanism.

If I hadn't returned to the Church I would feel compelled to take up arms and become a 'traitor' and as it is I feel a traitor regardless.

The end result would be just the same, just another 'extremist nut case' bleeding out their 15m so everyone can feel stimulated till the talking heads find something else to vomit into our dying rooms.

Crazy pill hangover every day.

Terry, would you mind translating what you wrote into plain English? Thanks.

Mr. Gadsden

The well of liberty has found itself dried by the illiterate masses while the blood of our patriots be spilled in the cause of revenge.

Barbara,

I think Terry means;

We have to the same piont as Rome @ the height of her decadance. He took an oath to protect and defend the constitution of the United States against all enemies foriegn and domestic.(As did I)

The pledge of allegience says nothing of a democracy.

The constitition so often referred to by the communist bastards that are dismantling our country is not the constitution our fathers gave us. The principle mantra they use to fool themselves (and other useful idiots), is the nonexistent doctrine of ,"separation of church and state". I challange anyone to find ,SEPARATION, CHURCH or STATE in the Constitution or Declaration of Independence. They prosecute thier Godless agenda while reaping the blessings bestowed upon them by the God fearing men and women who shed thier blood to protect thier right to be idiots

If he hadnt returned to the Church he might have taken up arms, and he feels like a tratior for not doing anything

and lastly it looks like he doesnt have much hope for us pulling out of our collective stupidity.

Was I close on that Terry?

Carl and Terry,

Is that the same thing as sending our young men and women to fight wars on terrorism when the wars really are about oil, land, and power? The GOD of this world seems to be Gold, Oil, and Drugs! By the way, are you a veteran? Have you heard of Jim Purcey? Do you think we headed for a revolution?

Posted November 5, 2009 at 1:02:33 PM

FreeNorth

We are in a revolution right now. The Executive and Legislative branches of the Federal government are in open rebellion against the Constitution and the People.

I caution against taking that to mean we should grab firearms and march on Washington with blood in our eyes. First, we must exhaust legal means (see the Declaration of Independence; it describes the numerous efforts of the colonies to treat with George III, and notes that it was the troops of the crown that made the first hostile move).

Let us see if we can get relief through honest elections next year. Let us elect not only a Congress that respects the Constitution and the rights of the people, but also state governments willing to defend our rights against the pompous tyrants now infesting the White House.

It was C.S. Lewis who, in his unforgettable "Screwtape Letters," wrote: "The greatest evil is not done now in those sordid 'dens of crime' that Dickens loved to paint. It is not even done in concentration camps and labor camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried and minuted) in clear, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice."

Would it surprise any of you Thomas Paine advocated giving five crown per month to all women so they could raise their(this is the correct spelling,CARL)children outside of poverty advocating the first welfare state back in the 1770's while he was writing another little set of articles called "Common Sense," a trait none of you seem to have the slightest bit.

The reason our country has gone to the dogs is because we are ruled by the corporate oligarchy who controls Washington D.C., bathing it in hundreds of millions of dollars of corporate campaign contributions. Our elected officials are puppets controlled by their corporate masters doing their bidding to the advantage of the few at the expense of the many. All it is about is the money! While wedge issues like abortion, affirmative action, and seperation of church and state are paraded in front of the populace to stir up patriotic fervor, large corporations are getting the Congress to give them large tax breaks and shifting the tax burden to the middle class and the working poor. Remember the Gramm-Ruddmen Act in 1986 taking away your tax deductions for the interest you paid on your credit cards? Now all your credit cards have high interest rates(up to 30.99%) and you don't have deductions while paying higher taxes so the rich can keep more of their (your) money. What you have now is legalized loan sharking, so pray for some insight to see what is happening to our country so you won't put up with getting robbed blind. This has been going on for decades. They didn't call him "Tricky Dicky" for nothing!(He's the one who brought you HMO's so you could pay higher premiums and get less or no coverage when you get sick) Now we pay 250% of what other countries pay for worse health care. Since all of you seem to like to worry about whether "under God" should be in the Pledge of Allegience (read what Thomas Paine said about pledging an oath to your country) while the sucking sound of your money is leaving your collective wallets, send me some. Christmas is coming and my daughter needs a new I-POD and I'm a little short on cash this year! I also have a mountain for sale in Key West if you are interested.

What is the quote from Franklin about the Rattlesnake? Also, why don't you have a "Search" pane on your website so we can search documents?

"Pity the poor souls who are too faint hearted to resist their oppressors; for they sing the song of the damned. I can't fight back, they may put me in jail, they may take my property, and I might lose my job. These 'blind' people, Americans, are standing by and watching their elected officials strip Americans of their freedoms under the disguise of security. Convincing us that doing this will insure our freedom and our liberties for our (children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren) posterity. Such poor 'blind' people are refusing to see the most glorious legacy we can bequeath our posterity is liberty." --Author Unknown

Woodrow Wilson after he signed the Federal Reserve Act into Law in 1913:

"I am a most unhappy man, I have unwittingly ruined my country. A great industrial nation is now controlled by its system of credit. Our system of credit is concentrated. The growth of the nation, therefore, and all our activities are in the hands of a few men. We have come to be one of the worst ruled, one of the most completely controlled and dominated Governments in the civilized world; no longer a Government by free opinion, no longer a Government by conviction and the vote of the majority, but a Government by the opinion and duress of a small group of dominant men."

Your arguments are senseless and inaccurate

The "Poor" (up to 40% of workers) pay no income taxes

The majority of people to not itemize deductions on their tax returns so not being able to deduct credit card interest has no meaning and your argument is worthless.

The problem is the 30% interest on credit cards and Joe Biden brought us that monstrosity playing puppet to all of those financial institutions incorporated in Delaware so they can charge usurious interest.

How did Nixon bring about HMOs?

Because general health statistics are not uniform among different countries we can't accurately compare "life expectancy" to measure general health care in any one country - adjusting for the higher homicides and accidents in the US results in the US having a higher "life expectancy" that other countries. Comparisons of some specific health care is possible and in all of those instances the US health care is vastly superior - you have a 600% greater chance of dieing of Prostate Cancer in the UK's nationalized health care system than the US system.

The Democrats and proponents of Health Care Reform have sold a lot of people a bill of goods but no substance.
