Masking the Viral Truth

Biden, Fauci, and the CDC have created a colossal trust deficit.

According to CDC Director Rochelle Walensky, she’s having a hard time communicating with the American people. Her solution? Walensky says, “My job is to put my head down, ignore the criticism, and do the right thing for the public and to do the right thing for health.”

Actually, her job should include listening to criticism, and ignoring it is a major reason why only half of Americans are fully vaccinated against the ChiCom Virus pandemic. Americans of all stripes mistrust the CDC, and that mistrust is well earned.

Obviously, when the CDC adulterates data in order to push Joe Biden’s political agenda, as it did when recently falsifying infection rates in Florida, that is a big trust-buster.

But the trust deficit issue related to masking and now vaxxing has its origin in the propagation of lies extending back to the very beginning of the pandemic — starting with the efficacy of masking, as Biden is now considering masking and vaxxing mandates.

In February 2020, Anthony “Flip-Flop” Fauci declared: “There is no reason for anyone right now in the United States, with regard to coronavirus, to wear a mask. … I think there’s this misperception that wearing a mask, even if you were in an area where there was transmission, is going to absolutely protect you.”

Two weeks later, Surgeon General Jerome Adams declared: “Seriously people — STOP BUYING MASKS! They are NOT effective in preventing general public from catching Coronavirus.” Days later, Adams said again, “Masks do not work for the general public and preventing them from getting coronavirus.”

A week after that, Fauci reiterated in a national media interview: “There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.”

Months later, they admitted they outright lied about masking, justifying the lies by claiming they were meant to ensure there were enough masks for healthcare workers in close proximity to severely ill patients, to lower the risk of contracting or spreading the virus. However, assuming there is reliable data to support the assertion that the paper and cloth masks use by 99% of maskers, provide a significant deterrent, it’s clear that Anthony Fauci’s public lies about masking accelerated the spread of COVID-19.

But the evidence establishing the efficacy of masking is, at best, mixed. Recently, our Emmy Griffin wrote on the subject of masking efficacy, questioning, amid all the rush to re-mask, whether the masks 99.9% of Americans are using actually work.

Fact is, based on a review of 14 key randomized controlled tests on masking, the evidence indicates that “three [of the studies] suggest, but do not provide any statistically significant evidence in intention-to-treat analysis, that masks might be useful.” However, the researchers conclude, “The other eleven suggest that masks are either useless — whether compared with no masks or because they appear not to add to good hand hygiene alone — or actually counterproductive.” And even tests under controlled laboratory conditions find that most masks used now, are not very effective.

Given the fact that half the nation is vaccinated and a substantial percentage of the rest of the nation has developed natural immunities after having recovered from the virus, why are Biden, Fauci, and Walensky pushing masking mandates again, especially among the least vulnerable among us, school children? Why are they considering, according to the AP, “more severe measures — such as mandating vaccines for interstate travel…” Got that.

My conclusion: Though masking may provide some minimal level of protection, these mandates constitute another round of “noble lies” to push vaccination. Biden, Fauci, and Walensky are lying to the public about the effectiveness of masking for your own good. Their objective is to elevate the level of fear and angst about infection so that people will feel compelled to get vaccinated. Thus, everyone wearing a mask is, in effect, a walking advertisement for vaxxing — that is their calculation. And all the fear they are fomenting about the so-called “Delta variant” is for the same objective: Get vaccinated.

Their ultimate message ends up being this: Trust the politicians and bureaucrats who lied about masking; the vaccine is harmless.

For the record, I fully support voluntary vaccinations — I am not an anti-vaxer. But the masking and vaxxing mandates are a gross overreach of central government power and should be rejected outright. Predictably and inevitably, the central government’s response to the ChiCom Virus pandemic under the now-authoritarian control of Biden and Fauci has devolved into mandates that are predicated on 10% science and 90% power accumulation.

Furthermore, the mistrust of politicians and bureaucrats is greatly amplified by the BIG Tech oligarchs who have aggressively suppressed all opinions that do not comport with those of Fauci and the CDC.

The last Senator to be suspended by YouTube was Ron Johnston (R-WI) for mentioning new studies about COVID treatments.

The latest blackout: Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) has been temporarily suspended from YouTube for posting a video in which he said: “Most of the masks you get over the counter don’t work; they don’t prevent infection. Saying cloth masks work when they don’t actually risk lives, as someone may choose to care for a loved one with COVID while only wearing a cloth mask. This is not only bad advice but also potentially deadly information.”

In other words, Paul (MD) said what most studies imply about using anything other than N-95-level masking filtration. That is consistent with what Fauci himself had previously declared: “The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out [the] virus, which is small enough to pass through the material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in [keeping] out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you.”

And that is precisely what Biden’s former senior pandemic advisor, epidemiologist Dr. Michael Osterholm, just repeated: “I wish we could get rid of the term masking because, in fact, it implies that anything you put in front of your face works… We know today that many of the face cloth coverings that people wear are not very effective in reducing any of the virus movement in or out.” Likewise, former FDA commissioner Scott Gottlieb says, “If you’re going to consider wearing a mask, the quality of the mask does matter.”

Recall that even the New England Journal of Medicine report titled “Universal Masking in Hospitals in the Covid-19 Era,” included this assessment of the broader implications of masking: “We know that wearing a mask outside health care facilities offers little, if any, protection from infection. … The chance of catching Covid-19 from a passing interaction in a public space is therefore minimal. In many cases, the desire for widespread masking is a reflexive reaction to anxiety over the pandemic.”

Responding to the video takedown in another video posted to YouTube competitor Rumble, Paul, who recently rumbled with Fauci in a Senate hearing, said: “Apparently, because I dared to contradict Dr. Fauci and the government, YouTube has removed my video. YouTube might be a private entity, but they’re acting like an arm of the government censoring those who provide an alternative view to the science deniers in Washington — people like Dr. Fauci, who have lied to the American people time and time again about masks.”

But the Big Tech arbiters of truth don’t want you questioning the truth according to Big Gov.

And neither does Anthony Fauci, who recently declared: “Put aside all of these issues of concern about liberties and personal liberties and realize we have a common enemy, and that common enemy is virus.”

Just put Liberty aside… I am reminded of the timeless wisdom of the elder of our Founders, Benjamin Franklin, who observed, “They that can give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”

Of course, when it comes to abiding by their own rules, for Demos it’s masks for thee but not for me. Most recently, that abject hypocrisy included Barack Obama’s maskless birthday party, Rashida Tlaib’s partying, and, of course, Sandy Cortez’s masking charade.
