Joe Biden Is Keeping His ‘Unity’ Promise!

“To restore the soul and secure the future of America requires so much more than words. It requires … unity. Unity.”

“The influence of your personal character moderates the divisions of political parties.” —George Washington (1789)

Yes, Joe Biden is keeping his “unity” promise — at least in that he has succeeded in unifying a majority of Americans, Right and Left, against him.

As you recall, Biden insisted on his Inauguration Day 2021 that he and VP Kamala Harris were the “Great Uniters.”

Biden’s inaugural theme was “America United,” in which he laid out his plan to “unify and heal the nation.”

Ahead of the inauguration, Biden outlined this theme in a lengthy statement on his campaign website: “My fellow Americans, The people of this nation have spoken. They have delivered us a clear victory. A convincing victory. A victory for ‘We the People.’ I pledge to be a President who seeks not to divide, but to unify. Who doesn’t see Red and Blue states, but a United States. … I sought this office to restore the soul of America. … To unite us here at home.”

On election night, after listing all the leftist identity groups Democrats had cultivated in order to divide and conquer, Biden insisted: “To those who voted for President Trump, I understand your disappointment tonight. … It’s time to put away the harsh rhetoric. To lower the temperature. To see each other again. To listen to each other again. To make progress, we must stop treating our opponents as our enemy. … The Bible tells us that to everything there is a season — a time to build, a time to reap, a time to sow. And a time to heal. This is the time to heal in America. … I ran as a proud Democrat. I will now be an American president. I will work as hard for those who didn’t vote for me as [for] those who did. Let this grim era of demonization in America begin to end — here and now. … We must restore the soul of America. … A nation united.”

In Biden’s brief and relatively lucid inaugural remarks, he repeated the “unity” (read: “conformity”) theme 10 times.

He began with this declaration: “I’ve just taken the sacred oath … the oath first sworn by George Washington.” (That would be the oath “to support and defend” our Constitution, which Biden and most Democrats violate every minute of every day.)

And then he dove in: “To restore the soul and secure the future of America requires so much more than words. It requires the most elusive of all things in a democracy — unity. Unity.” (For the record, our nation is a Republic.)

He continued: “Today, on this January day, my whole soul is in this: bringing America together, uniting our people, uniting our nation. … I know speaking of unity can sound to some like a foolish fantasy these days.”

He closed by insisting: “I give you my word, I will always level with you. I will defend the Constitution. I’ll defend our democracy. I’ll defend America and I will give all, all of you. Keep everything I do in your service, thinking not of power, but of possibilities, not of personal interest, but the public good. And together we shall write an American story of hope, not fear. Of unity, not division.”

Of course, Biden is a pathological liar.

A “uniter” is a peacemaker and a reconciler.

But Democrat Party principals, including Biden and Harris, have spent decades dividing up constituencies in order to foment discontent and dependence. Democrats have cultivated “entitled victim” underclasses, the direct result of their socialist policies, and those ensnared and enslaved by Democrats are key political constituencies (read: dependencies) upon which the Democrats’ statist power relies.

If Biden and Harris had any genuine interest in unity, they wouldn’t have based their campaign on hate and division. Of course, division is the staple of the Democrat Party and has been for generations. Democrats only “win” the battle if they can divide and conquer.

The net result is not a party defined by Biden’s fake “unity” theme but a collective of groups defined by disunity, anger, and victimhood, and tied to their racial, ethnic, or gender characteristics.

If Biden and Harris had any genuine interest in unity, they would condemn in the strongest words their party’s rank and highly destructive politicization of the death of a black Minneapolis man and disavow their assertion that our nation is awash in “systemic racism.”

If Biden and Harris had any genuine interest in unity, they would have condemned in the strongest words their party’s politicization of the ChiCom Virus pandemic, hanging their 2020 election strategy on pandemic fear and casting blame.

If Biden and Harris had any genuine interest in unity, they would condemn in the strongest words their party’s use of the pandemic as cover to implement their bulk-mail ballot fraud strategy and make it a permanent voting option.

If Biden and Harris had any genuine interest in unity, they would condemn in the strongest words the emerging systemic redlining of free speech by their leftist Big Tech brethren.

Responding to Biden’s “unity” (read: “submission”) theme, policy analyst Josh Lawson asserted at the time, “If Biden really wants unity, he will affirm equality under the law as did Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln.”

Political analyst David Harsanyi observed: “Political unity is an ugly, authoritarian idea. No free nation has domestic political unity, nor should it aspire to it. What ‘unity’ really means is capitulation. … Unity is found in comity with your neighbors, in your churches and schools, in your everyday interactions with your community. Politics is not a place for unity. It is a place for airing grievances. And we’ve got plenty.”

I would note that there is a distinction between political unity and civic unity, though civility should be the aim in both contexts. Biden’s use of political unity is tantamount to political submission, the conformity associated with tyranny. To that end, we should not confuse political unity with civility.

Just months into Biden’s first year, there was a rapid emergence of authoritarians in his administration, which continues to pose the greatest domestic threat to American Liberty in half a century. The Democrat Party and its leftist congressional caucuses devolved into a socialist cesspool at an unprecedented pace.

The Democrat history of advocating socialist and communist models first emerged in a presidential administration after the election of the notoriously racist “progressive,” Woodrow Wilson, who popularized “classism.” It gained significant ground under Franklin Roosevelt’s regime in the 1930s and 1940s.

The next wave of young neo-Marxists emerged in the mid-1970s, but the current ideological surge began in 2008 under its poster child, Barack Obama.

Now, the socialist enemies of Liberty, under the thumb of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer, have joined Biden’s outright embrace of totalitarian tyranny.

So, you ask, “How is Biden keeping his ‘unity’ promise?”

He’s succeeded in unifying a majority of the nation against him — both Democrats and Republicans.

As it turns out, a lot of the Demo votes in the 2020 election, were more about voting against Donald Trump than voting for Joe Biden, as now clearly reflected in Biden’s approval ratings.

On his left flank, millions of Democrats are angry that Biden has not succeeded in implementing more of their statist objectives. On the other hand, moderates who voted against Trump can now clearly see that Biden has accomplished nothing compared to the Trump administration’s accomplishments.

The day before Biden took office, our national economy had been dealt a severe blow by the ChiCom Virus pandemic but was in full recovery mode. There was record-low unemployment for Black and Hispanic Americans and a 50-year unemployment low for women, median household income was at a record-high while poverty was at a record low, inflation was at 1.4%, our nation was energy independent, our borders were more secure than in decades, our international superpower standing had been restored, and our nation’s most dangerous foreign enemies were keeping their heads down, fearful of Trump.

You might want to read that graph again!

On his first day in office, Biden set about reversing all of the Trump administration policies that accounted for surging American prosperity and security.

Now, 18 months into Biden’s term, America is in trouble, and all but Biden’s most dullard Demos know it. The emperor has no clothes.

The good news for America is that Biden and his Democrat Party are thoroughly mired down in a deep pile of Demo dung, including, most notably, surging inflation (now over 9%). And that is combined with the less visible proliferation of “shrinkflation – prices being upsized on common consumer products while packaging quantities are being downsized.

Rising inflation is the direct result of Biden’s so-called American Rescue Plan, which dumped $1.9 trillion in taxpayer-funded graft into a $300 billion economic hole created by the COVID pandemic – on top of all the 2020 "Covid relief” spending already being dispensed. The excess $1.6 trillion is indisputably a major factor in the inflation now crushing family budgets. Then they dumped another $1 trillion so-called “infrastructure bill” on the inflation pile and Biden wants to spend another $2.5 trillion.

Some Demos are waking up to the fact that Biden’s policies have resulted in surging violent crime, rising energy prices, and millions of illegal immigrants flooding the country as a result of Biden’s intentional and reckless open border policy. And with each new day there is another chapter of Biden’s corrupt family business with the ChiComs, bolstered by his reinvigoration of the Red China threat.

And now, after Biden’s deadly surrender and retreat from Afghanistan, there is a deadly war in Ukraine on NATO’s doorstep — with an emboldened Vladimir Putin knowing he has nothing to fear from Biden.

The “unity” against Biden, and by extension his Democrat Party, is evident in his abysmal polling. His approval rating has been hovering around 38%, a reflection of his pathetic performance on every issue that matters most to Americans. Despite the full weight of his influential mainstream media talkingheads and scribes, including the White House press corps whose Democrat-to-Republican ratio is 12 to 1, Biden and company have been unable to move the public opinion needle back in their direction.

Notably, Harris is even lower than Biden. Yes, she checked off the race, gender and generation boxes for the Biden ticket in 2020, and there was a lot of Democrat support for the feckless non compos mentis Biden ticket because she was on it. But, Harris has become increasingly toxic to that ticket.

Every week there is more evidence of just how well Biden has “unified” all Americans. And the long knives are coming out even among his media allies. Even The New York Times declared last month: “As the challenges facing the nation mount and fatigued base voters show low enthusiasm. Democrats in union meetings, the back rooms of Capitol Hill and party gatherings from coast to coast are quietly worrying about Mr. Biden’s leadership, his age…”

They were much too kind.

Biden’s age is not the problem. It’s the leftist policies being advanced by his puppeteers that are driving our nation into the ground.

Political analyst Byron York highlighted the latest evidence of Biden unity in a New York Times survey, finding that 64% of Democratic voters don’t want Biden to run in 2024. Amazingly, 26% of Democrats want Biden renominated. Who are those people? Moreover, it is no surprise that 94% of Democrats under age 30 want another candidate. That notwithstanding, Biden, given his chronic delusions of adequacy, insists he will run for reelection.

More than 75% of those surveyed indicated what was “extremely important” to them was the economy and jobs. Fewer than 10% indicated gun policies were the most pressing issue.

The Times’ survey further indicated that Biden’s job approval among all voters was a mere 33%, substantially lower than the RealClearPolitics average of 38%. Moreover, just 13% of respondents indicated they believe the country is on the right track, leading the Times to conclude, “With the country gripped by a pervasive sense of pessimism, the president is hemorrhaging support.”

The last survey in which Biden’s job approval was above 50% was a Politico-Morning Consult survey in August 2021, when he squeaked by with a 51% approval rating. It’s been downhill ever since.

So, how low can Joe go? Don’t underestimate the depths — he is an overachiever when it comes to unifying America against him.

What does this mean for the midterm elections in four months?

A LOT can happen in the interim to change the Demos’ prospects.

But the worst possible scenario for Republicans would be for Trump to announce his 2024 candidacy ahead of the midterms, as he apparently is contemplating. According to Trump: “Well, in my own mind, I’ve already made that decision, so nothing factors in anymore… I would say my big decision will be whether I go before or after [the midterms]… I just think that there are certain assets to before… I think a lot of people would not even run if I did that because, if you look at the polls, they don’t even register… People want me to run.”

Asked about that prospect, former South Carolina Rep. Trey Gowdy, who was on Trump’s legal defense team, said that he could not imagine any worse scenario ahead of the midterm election. Seasoned political analyst Brit Hume agreed, as do I.

As noted previously, Democrats did not vote so much for Biden as they voted against Trump. Clearly, Trump energizes more Democrats than he does Republicans, as evident in the 2020 election results — despite all the balloting anomalies. Giving Demos the ability to, again, run against Trump ahead of the midterms, and in 2024, is exactly what they want.

A colleague noted that it’s interesting how Trump energizes turnout on both sides of the political divide. So did Ronald Reagan, but he energized both sides by appealing to the best in Americans, which is why he won a landslide reelection.

So, what do I believe Trump should do?

He should spend all his energy in rallying his grassroots base — and then undermine the Democrats’ 2024 prospects, which are not likely to include Biden, by endorsing a younger presidential candidate who does not drag all the Trump baggage and division into the 2024 Republican primary. And considering Biden’s failing mental acuity, I note that Trump would be 78 years old Jan 2025, a year older than Ronald Reagan when he left office.

There is a great field of rising Republicans, and I would exclude Mike Pence, who would also drag the Trump baggage and division into 2024. At the moment, I strongly favor Ron DeSantis, whose record is extraordinary and is positioned well, paired with any number of great prospects for VP.

If Trump can exercise enough humility to clear a path for the growing number of very capable conservative 2024 presidential candidates, Democrats will have a difficult time prevailing in the midterms and in the next presidential election.
