Visiting with one of my favorite relatives recently, a Delaware native who is older than Joe Biden but much healthier, she mentioned that on a recent flight to Philadelphia, her landing was delayed by a half-hour. Her flight was put into a holding pattern because Kamala Harris was about to leave town after hosting a roundtable on “reproductive rights” — except, of course, the rights of children before birth.

In other words, she was hosting an event that could have easily been accomplished on a video conference call.

Philadelphia International Airport has a lot of traffic, and that raised another question.

Given all the Biden-Harris regime’s handwringing about so-called climate change, how much high-priced fossil fuel was burned by all the flights that were held up by Harris? On the ground, how much automotive fuel and work productivity was lost in traffic delays around Harris’s route to and from her Demo dog and pony show? What was the taxpayer cost of all the local law enforcement and other resources allocated for the visit?

Side note: Harris travels very light compared to POTUS Joe Biden, whose plane alone costs almost $180,000 per hour to operate — which is a small fraction of the actual cost of Biden’s travel.

For the record, I have objected to taxpayer-funded political junkets for years, regardless of political affiliation, because of the expense. When a president flies, his entourage can cost upwards of 10 million taxpayer dollars, including his backup aircraft, military transport of limousines, ground crews, security details and fighter protection deployments along the route, etc.

Again, the cost to local governments and local businesses due to disruptions is also very high.

But to the point of the carbon footprint Biden leaves behind, if he is really concerned about carbon emissions, there should be a full public disclosure of the environmental impact of every flight he and Harris take — published prior to the flight. (Don’t hold your breath.)

We all know about the left-elite who fly to climate summits on their private jets while pontificating to the masses about what they should do to curb carbon emissions.

But recall that Biden just returned from his fist-bumping-fest to Saudi Arabia to beg Mohammed bin Salman to produce more oil. Then, as soon as he got back to the U.S., Biden signed what he called a “climate emergency” declaration to undermine the Supreme Court’s ruling that checked the EPA’s unconstitutional administrative power.

You can’t make this stuff up.

The hypocrisy is so rich it defies words, which is to say it falls into the category of a “BIG Lie,” a political playbook tactic the Left has mastered.
