It’s undeniable that Vivek Ramaswamy is charismatic and working hard for the Republican presidential nomination. He went from the candidate who had zero name recognition to the candidate who is now being targeted by both the Left and the establishment Right. Everyone is wondering the same thing: Does Vivek stand a chance?

Probably not. Ramaswamy is an intriguing candidate, but the establishment side of the Republican Party is weary of another Trump-like character, and Donald Trump commands a huge lead. Ramaswamy speaks of a vision and ideals that the Republican Party desperately needs. He continuously states that the GOP is always running away from something when it ought to be running to something. He’s not wrong. Republicans play defense and distance themselves from ideologies or policies that don’t align with the party, but hardly ever will the party provide an eloquent vision for the future of America, let alone make sure that vision resonates with a younger generation.

Voters who currently support Ramaswamy like that he is a young political outsider who offers a clear vision with specific steps on how to get to that vision. Ramaswamy is unapologetic about his conservative views and defends them well when he speaks to liberal media. He conveys intricate knowledge of the Constitution and is committed to using the powers the Constitution grants to shut down bureaucracies like the FBI and Department of Education. He speaks of a revolution and revival of our great nation while other candidates pledge unending support for Ukraine or spend time bickering about each other.

His performance on the Republican debate stage was impressive, and smear campaigns soon followed. He has been accused of cozying up to George Soros and the World Economic Forum, though his critics forget that other popular candidates had taken money from Soros before engaging in politics. Ramaswamy has rebutted the claims against him, leaving critics to challenge his faith, his age, and his inexperience in holding an elected position.

Ramaswamy’s Hindu faith has been questioned by potential voters and the media. Some are hesitant to vote for a candidate who does not profess a Christian faith. We must note that many elected officials profess the Christian faith but conduct themselves in anything but their Christian faith. President Joe Biden, for example, claims to be a faithful Catholic while supporting abortion and removing Catholic priests from Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

One must wonder how many critiqued the young age of some of our Founding Fathers. After all, their average age was 42. Like President Ronald Regan, President Donald Trump did not have prior experience with the federal government, and both went on to be extraordinary presidents of their time.

Ramaswamy would make a fine president, but it may not happen in 2024. This author’s prediction is that President Trump will take the nomination and perhaps become our 47th president.
